The Complete Selection of Films for the CineKasimanwa Announced

One of the most anticipated film festivals in the country is now on its third year and will open with three short films and with the four trailers of the Philippines' first regional Film Grants Program. CineKasimanwa: Western Visayas Film Festival, with this year's theme "Lokal is International". A couple of days ago, the opening films were announced. Now, we have the full list of all the films joining the CineKasimanwa. The CineKasimanwa 2015 Opening Films Announced

The CineKasimanwa: Western Visayas Season is almost here! From December 8 to 14, 2015 go visit the venues The FDCP Cinematheque, the UPV Cinematheque, and SM City Iloilo Cinema, because we will be celebrating Western Visayas and its cinema scene. The three opening films have just been announced today. Universal Eyes Little Mermaid with Chloe Grace Moretz

While Disney is busy working on their projects which are live action remakes of their successful animated classics based upon popular fairy tales (such as the upcoming "Beauty & the Beast" and "Mulan"), Universal is also working on a live-action adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen tale "Little Mermaid" and they set their sights on Chloe Moretz to don the fins and flippers as the title character. Disney Reviving Mary Poppins

Disney is reviving one of their most beloved and iconic characters with a new Mary Poppins movie. Rob Marshall (Chicago) is on board to direct the new original live-action musical from a script by David Magee (Life of Pi). EW reports that the new Mary Poppins film will take pace 20 years after the original classic, in Depression-era London, and will draw inspiration from the existing works P.L. Screening this week at the FDCP Cinematheque is the 2014 Cinemalaya film "K'na, the Dreamweaver". Its is a movie about a young T'boli woman, who becomes a dreamweaver, and has the chance to weave together her village's warring clans. Walang Rape sa Bontok Screens at the FDCP Cinematheque this week

This week at the FDCP Cinematheque, the highly-praised documentary "Walang Rape sa Bontok" will be screened. This much-talked-about movie is about two Filipina victims of sexual abuse, who searched for the truth behind the finding of a renowned anthropologist: that merely a few generations ago, the Bontok Igorot lived in what seems an unthinkable utopia; a rapeless society. Channing Tatum has finalized deal with Gambit

This is kind of funny. A few days ago, several prominent movie websites have reported that Channing Tatum has left the Gambit movie. But what happened here is a case of bad media, passing on a message and having it be re-interpreted badly, so much so that it morphs the original info. One site reported that Tatum's deal with 20th Century Fox may be in danger, then all of a sudden another site reports him to have already left the project. Seems that all these bad news sources have jumped the gun. Phil Lord and Chris Miller to direct a Han Solo Movie

Vin Diesel is Kojak

News is out that "Fast & Furious" actor Vin Diesel is developing a film adaptation based on the 1970's cop show, "Kojak", being set up as starring vehicle for Diesel. Universal Pictures has hired screenwriter Philip Gawthorne to write the screenplay. Gawthorne had recently signed on to pen a remake of the sci-fi thriller "Cube" for Lionsgate.
