"2 Cool 2 Be 4Gotten" Gets Extended

The FDCP Cinematheque has just announced the extension of screening for the film "2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten" by Petersen Vargas, on May 3 and 4, 2017 at 6PM. Admission fee is PHP 150. The film opened in Cinematheque Iloilo last April 26, 2017 and has received a warm, packed reception. So much so that an extension is well deserved.

CineKasimanwa Films to be Screened at "Pag+uo"

In tune with the solemn season, the CineKasimanwa: Western Visayas Film Festival in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines' Cinematheque Iloilo presents "Pag+uo" a screening of films about trials, challenges, fate, mystery, hope, journey, redemption, symbolisms, pain and joy, in the eyes of Ilonggo Filmmakers. These are picked selections from the CineKasimanwa: Western Visayas Film Festival screenings. The screenings will be held at the FDCP Cinematheque Iloilo, Solis Street, Iloilo City on April 8 and 9 at 2:00 PM screenings. These films are Free of charge, and the filmmakers will be in attendance.

FDCP Cinematheque's SCREAMFEST 2016

In celebration of the Halloween season, the Cinematheque Iloilo presents a couple of scary films that will surely chill and thrill audiences. The Cinematheque's SCREAMFEST will run from October 27 to 30, 2016. Admission is only 50 pesos. The FDCP Cinematheque Iloilo is located at the B & C Square Bldg., Iznart-Solis Sts., Iloilo City. Argentine Ambassador Graces the Cinematheque

The FDCP Cinematheque Iloilo has been having their Argentine Crime Films Festival this week, and last Wednesday October 19, 2016 was the festival's reception night which was graced by Ambassador Roberto Bosch, Ambassador of Argentina to the Philippines. The cocktails was followed by the screening of the film "The Secret in their Eyes".

Ang Babae Sa Likod Ng Mambabatok screens at the Cinematheque Iloilo

"Ang Babae sa Likod ng Mambabatok" will be replacing "Busong: Palawan Fate" for the screening of the Indigenous People films this week. The Indigenous' Peoples Month is a 3-day series which starts October 12 to 14, 2016. Admission is only P50. FDCP's "Make the Cut" Film Editing Workshop Project launched in Iloilo

Last week, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, in partnership with National Film Archives of the Philippines and Film ASEAN held a film editing workshop entitled "Make the Cut" at the FDCP Cinematheque Iloilo with award-winning filmmaker & film editor Tara Illenberger as the supervisor/lecturer of the workshop. The World Premieres Film Festival at the Cinematheque this Week

The World Premieres Film Festival continues this week at the FDCP Cinematheque with a handful of wonderful films from around the world, namely; Chicas Paranoicas, Candlestick, Open Wound, Filosofi Kopi, and the WPFF 2015 Short Films, and on Saturday, the five-and-a-half-hour Lav Diaz film "Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon" gets a screening. This set will run from June 21 till 26, 2016. The World Premieres Festival Films are free admission while "Mula sa Kung Ano and Noon" will have a 100 peso admission fee. [hit the jump to continue]

At the FDCP Cinematheque this Week: Tigbao

Screening this week at the FDCP Cinematheque is the film "Tigbao" by director Michael Cabardo. It's been 16 years since Mang Celio's son has gone missing. When a forensic team arrives to investigate the disappearances, Mang Celio goes through a range of emotions as he unearth his truths. The film stars  Lou Veloso, Ronnie Lazaro, and Archie Adamos. "Dagitab" screens at the FDCP Cinematheque this week

The film "Dagitab" which topbills Eula Valdes will be screened this week at the FDCP Cinematheque. "Dagitab" is the story of a marriage falling apart, meanwhile the man is haunted by illusions and delusions of a supernatural being in the guise of an old flame. "Dagitab" will run from June 16 to 21, and June 23, 2015 (Tues-Thurs 3:30 & 5:30, Fri-Sun 1:30, 3:30 & 5:30). Admission is only P 100. The FDCP Cinematheque is located at the B&C Square Building, Solis Street, Iloilo City (near BPI and East West Bank).
