[check out the list after the jump]
The Ewoks
First appearing in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the Ewoks are a primitive tribal species from the Forest Moon of Endor. They are approximately half the size of humans and covered with fur. The Ewoks are best known for their aid to the Rebel mission to remove the shield protecting the Second Death Star known as the battle of Endor. While peaceful by nature, they are extremely territorial and have been known to fight ferociously in protection of their society.
High on the cute level, but they do have the ability to fight back. They are more like a mere primitive tribe whose simplistic ways of life are very much reliant on mother nature. They live off the resources of the forest and they are capable of making impressive primitive devices such as crude traps and weapons.
[ I think what he said there was actually: "Puno daw yon" ]
The Gremlins
As seen in the Gremlins movie(s), having a Gremlin as a pet, one must follow three rules: never expose it to bright light (especially sunlight, which will kill it); never get it wet (which will make it multiply); and, most importantly: never, ever feed it after midnight, because this will transform them into their other form.
There are two sides to Gremlins: If they are on their original furry form, they can be cute but like human beings; there are nice gremlins and there are major A-hole gremlins as well. Yes, they can go high on the cute level. But if they get to eat anything after midnight, they will mutate into their alternative form; they shed their cuteness and become flesh eating little monsters. When they become that, they can still be funny and annoying, but just dont let them eat you!

The Jawas
Appearing in the Star Wars movies, these cloaked little creatures are one of the many inhabitants of the desert planet of Tatooine. Scavengers and tinkerers, they pick up discarded/broken machinery and fixing it up for sale.
Although their language may sound gibberish, they can actually communicate with the rest of the civilization, mainly because f their nature as businessmen.
Sure, they may look annoying, pesky, and sometimes even a bit filthy, but these crafty Jawas are most certainly smarter than the rest of the creatures on this list. They are more tech-savvy, business-oriented, and recycle-conscious. Lower on the cute level, but high on being annoying, and very high on the cleverness.

The Critters
As seen in the movie Critters (and its 3 other sequels), these 'Critters' or 'Crites' are a group of malevolent carnivorous aliens from outer space that have the ability to roll into balls (cf. hedgehogs) and combine into a pernicious sphere that can roll across the landscape and cause mayhem. In appearance, the individual Crites resemble small furry/spiky animals with large mouths and many sharp teeth. Throughout the movies they attack humans by biting and attempting to eat them, or at least a piece of them. The spikes on their backs can be launched as dart-like projectiles (render the victim unconscious). The coloration of the Crites varies between black, brown and navy blue.
Very low on the cute level, of course, they are horrifying. They are only cute in some sick humor kinda way, or perhaps in a way wherein you are just looking at them from an armor-strength glass wall, while they are doing some funny annoying things. They are so high on the annoying level that it is already deadly (duh... these things will kill you)
The Aliens of Toy Story
From the Toy Story movies The Little Green Men (also referred to as "LGMs" in Buzz Lightyear of Star Command Series) are a series of green, three-eyed rubber aliens. High on the cute level, but very very low on the usefulness. By nature, they are merely squeaky toys, but in the most fictional sense, they do nothing, they're just pathetic. cute. but pathetic.
(I was not originally planning on including these guys, but they cried fowl on my inclusion of the Toy Story aliens coz they spoke english like them)
In cartoons and in the movie, the Smurfs are small blue fictional creatures that live in a secret magical mushroom villages.
Sure they can communicate with humans too (like the Jawas) but a characteristic of the Smurf language is the frequent use of the undefinable word "smurf" and its derivatives in a variety of meanings. The Smurfs frequently replace both nouns and verbs in everyday speech with the word "smurf": "We're going smurfing on the River Smurf today." When used as a verb, the word "Smurf" typically means "to make", "to be", "to like", or "to do".
High on the cute level, somewhat smart (they have a village "civilization" of their own), but it seems like they dont want the outside world to know about them. They have more than enough stress with only Gargamel around, how much more if the world found out about them. As far as they know, they'd rather have human stay as far the smurf away from them!
