James Wan will direct Aquaman and Robotech

Insidious and The Conjuring director James Wan just recently proved that he could be a versatile filmmaker with the success of "Furious 7" which he directed. Now, he's taking on two gigantic genre projects; he will be directing the DC superhero movie "Aquaman" and he will also be directing the live-action adaptation of the popular anime "Robotech." Sony will make Robotech take off

A month ago, we talked about the planned Hollywood live-action adaptation of Robotech. Hollywood Gang, a production company on the Warner Bros. lot run by Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari had obtained the rights to the long-in-development Robotech movie and are eyeing Andy Muschietti, who directed "Mama" to develop and perhaps direct the film. Now, sources indicate that the film has moved to Sony and is now on the fast track there since they see it as a potential franchise. [hit the jump to continue]

Will the Robotech Live-Action Hollywood Adaptation finally move forward?

Looks like the "Robotech" movie is getting made after all, as producers Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton has picked up Michael B. Gordon (screenwriter for "300" and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra") to write the film's script and are looking at Andy Muschietti, who helmed the 2013 film "Mama" to direct it.
