No More Rupert Wyatt for Gambit

For some unpleasant news, "Gambit" has lost it's director Rupert Wyatt. It's unfortunate that this film just can't seem to catch a break from the negative vibes. Earlier this year, it was reported that the film's main star had walked away from the project, prompting everyone to think that the movie would never happen. 20th Century Fox sets its sights on FLASH GORDON

Twentieth Century Fox is setting their sights on an extremely potential sci-fi franchise as it has recently secured the rights to FLASH GORDON from Hearst Entertainment. John Davis, along with Star Trek 3 scribes J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay will be producing. 

Flash Gordon was originally a space fantasy adventure comic strip from Alex Raymond in the 1930's.The title character is a courageous handsome athlete, who along with the beautiful Dale Arden and the scientist Dr. Hans Zarkov, had somehow got transported into space, and into the planet Mongo, where they discover that the meteors that have been devastating Earth are weapons devised by Ming the Merciless, the planet's evil ruler. Writer-Producer Simon Kinberg Confirms Possible X-Men and Fantastic Four Crossover

Simon Kinberg and his Genre Films banner have signed a new three-year first-look deal at 20th Century Fox, and with this deal, Kinberg confirms his intentions to cross-over his cinematic Fantastic Four world and the X-Men world, merging both worlds to create a Marvel-style movie universes. Fox's X-Men and Fantastic Four are in the Same Movie Universe

Marvel's AVENGERS movie proved that nurturing a comicbook-based universe in movies results in potential franchise blockbuster success. While the DC movies have been making really sad attempts of launching their own Justice League franchise, 20th Century Fox seems to be making good decisions with their own X-Men universe, what with the established link between first three X-Men movies with X-Men First Class, and a planned X-Force movie. Now Fox's own superhero universe will be expanding with the other Marvel property which they own the rights to; The Fantastic Four. And Fox’s creative consultant Mark Millar has confirmed that, yes, Fox's X-Men universe is in the same universe as that with the Fantastic Four's. [hit the jump to continue]

CHRONICLE Sequel to be Made, But Not with the Original's Director and Writer

CHRONICLE was one of the most awesome and one of best films of 2012. Because it was such a success (the film  grossed ten times its original budget at the box office), of course its studio 20th Century Fox is planning to make a sequel. Unfortunately, it looks like Chronicle's director Josh Trank and it's writer Max Landis won’t be involved at all in the sequel. Landis' tweet on twitter says "I've been off Chronicle 2 for months now. Fox had a different direction they wanted to take the series, Josh was never attached." He also says "Chronicle 2 is still probably happening, just not with my involvement as of now. The Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch Appearances in Avengers 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past

The Comicbook characters Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver, and Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch, in the Marvel Comics Universe are members of the superhero team The Avengers. Now, the movie Avengers 2 is currently in active production (what with the start of Marvel's Phase 2 movies, beginning with Iron Man 3) and has included both superhero characters to make an appearance in that sequel. It just so happened that the upcoming movie X-Men: Days of Future Past will also have both characters make an appearance in that movie. Because aside from being Avengers, both comicbook characters are also mutants, and are the children of Magneto, one of the most important characters of the X-Men Universe. Independence day Sequels being developed

Roland Emmerich must have ran out of ideas for disaster movies that he's going back to one of the movies that had first generated his career. Emmerich is planning a sequel for his 1996 alien invasion movie: INDEPENDENCE DAY. Not just one, but two sequels. And the title of these sequels will be... Fantastic Four Reboot Actively Being Developed

The first two Fantastic Four movies did not really hit gold with audiences and critics and quickly got dissolved, now 20th Century Fox has decided to rework its plans for the Marvel foursome; they have decided to reboot FANTASTIC FOUR. Matthew Vaughn (director of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, and the producer who shot Guy Ritchie into directorial fame) will be producing, while Josh Trank, who amazed the superhero movie world with his movie "Chronicle", will be directing the Fantastic Four reboot.

To top it off, writer Mark Millar has been hired by Fox to act as a “consultant” on all of their developing Marvel properties; that includes Fantastic Four and the X-Men characters (Daredevil, on the other hand, is now back in Marvel's hands). To those unfamiliar, Mark Millar is one of the most prominent writers in the comics world. He created Kick-Ass, Wanted, The Authority, and was the writer behind Marvel's Civil War. Daredevil's Rights are now back in Marvel Studio's hands

Marvel Studios has secured the rights to the Marvel comics character Daredevil, whose rights was previously owned by 20th Century Fox. The 2003 Daredevil movie was actually a failure as it was terribly maligned by critics, it was despised by fans of the Daredevil comics, and did not even a spawn cult fanbase big enough to fuel interest in following it. Everybody, including Affleck himself, were interested in doing something darker with it, but the big men at the studios do not seem to know what to do with it.

After a very long period of trying to develop it, time has ran out for 20th Century Fox. A sequel or reboot should have to start filming by 10 October 2012, or else the rights to the Daredevil franchise would revert from Fox back to Marvel. And so it did; This month, Kevin Feige confirmed that the rights for Daredevil returned to Marvel Studios and Disney, opening the possibility of including the character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS sequel to give way to The Hunger Games' CATCHING FIRE

The X-MEN: FIRST CLASS sequel is already a 'Go'. And not only that, it's also going to start shooting early 2013. Although it was initially been reported that shooting should begin late 2012, the sked was moved in order to give way for Jennifer Lawrence's shooting conflicts with The Hunger Games sequel "Catching Fire". X-Men: First Class 2 is expected to reach U.S. theaters by Summer 2014.
