Universal Eyes Little Mermaid with Chloe Grace Moretz

While Disney is busy working on their projects which are live action remakes of their successful animated classics based upon popular fairy tales (such as the upcoming "Beauty & the Beast" and "Mulan"), Universal is also working on a live-action adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen tale "Little Mermaid" and they set their sights on Chloe Moretz to don the fins and flippers as the title character. Charlize Theron and Chloe Moretz set to star in DARK PLACES

Charlize Theron, Christina Hendricks, Nicholas Hoult, and Chloë Grace Moretz are set to shoot alongside writer-director Gilles Paquet-Brenner a film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel DARK PLACES. Corey Stoll (MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, HOUSE OF CARDS), and Tye Sheridan (upcoming JOE, MUD, TREE OF LIFE) will also be starring in this movie. DARK PLACES has already commenced principal photography this week on location in Shreveport, Louisiana.

DARK PLACES tells the story of Libby Day (Theron), a woman who, at the age of 7, survives the massacre of her family and testifies against her brother as the murderer. Twenty-five years later, a group obsessed with solving notorious crimes confronts her with questions about the horrific event.  Told in a series of flashbacks from the points of view of Libby’s mother, Patty, and her brother, Ben, Libby is forced to revisit that fateful day and begins to question what exactly she saw - or didn’t see - the night of the tragedy. Kick-Ass 2 to start shooting this year

Kick-Ass Isn't Done Kicking Ass Yet

The sequel to the 2010 black comedy superhero movie Kick-Ass is now well into production and will start shooting September this year. Aaron Johnson confirmed that he would reprise his titular role in the sequel. Chloë Grace Moretz who plays Hit-Girl and Christopher Charles Mintz-Plasse who plays the Red Mist are expected to reprise their roles as well. On the other hand, director Matthew Vaughn (who still acts as producer for the sequel) will be having his hands full on the sequel to the successful X-Men: First Class but he has chosen Jeff Wadlow, who also co-wrote the script along with Vaughn, to direct Kick-Ass 2. The sequel will maintain that Hard R rating.
