Channing Tatum has finalized deal with Gambit

This is kind of funny. A few days ago, several prominent movie websites have reported that Channing Tatum has left the Gambit movie. But what happened here is a case of bad media, passing on a message and having it be re-interpreted badly, so much so that it morphs the original info. One site reported that Tatum's deal with 20th Century Fox may be in danger, then all of a sudden another site reports him to have already left the project. Seems that all these bad news sources have jumped the gun. And just this weekend, a final confirmation has been made; Channing Tatum has already formally closed the deal and agreed that he will indeed become Gambit. [hit the jump to continue]

Rupert Wyatt will direct Gambit

Gambit movie to be made; Channing Tatum to play the title character

Gambit is one of the X-men characters that actually came in late in the franchise, as he was only introduced in the comics in the 90's. But he got popular pretty quick with the 90's kids. And ever since the first X-men movie, there had been a number of fans who were already crying for Gambit to make that silver screen appearance. Gambit is pretty big and it's really not a surprise to find out that a spin-off spotlight movie for Gambit movie is in development. And the rumors are now confirmed: Channing Tatum will play Gambit.

Earlier this year, there had already been several buzzes that a Channing Tatum - Gambit movie will be made, it's because X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner has been expressing her wishes to see Gambit on the silver screen with Channing Tatum to play the role.  She explained that she was “dying to do a Gambit movie” with Tatum, and it was just a matter of getting the studio on board.  A month ago, Tatum said he had met with Donner and would love to play the role because he’s a huge fan of the character.  However, there was still the question of whether or not it would all come together. 21 Jump Street goes to College

Yes, 21 Jump Street 2 is a Go! Producer Neal Moritz recently said that the college-bound follow-up to the 2012 sensation starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will bring back directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt eyed for Guys and Dolls adaptation

Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are probably the two most hottest men of Hollywood right now. Having them join forces seems like an idea close to Oceans Eleven. But they are both being eyed by 20th Century Fox to star in an adaptation of GUYS AND DOLLS, which is a musical by Frank Loesser, about stories that concerned gangsters, gamblers, and other characters of the New York underworld in the 1920s and 1930s. On November 3, 1955 the film version of the musical was released, starring Marlon Brando as Sky, Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit, and Jean Simmons as Sarah, with Vivian Blaine reprising her role as Adelaide. Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in the Wachowskis' new movie Juptier Ascending

The Wachowskis are widely known for creating the world of The Matrix. Since then, their movies include the failed 2008 adaptation of Speed Racer, and last year's Cloud Atlas. The Wachowskis are immediately back in action with a new sci fi movie that will star Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.

Still fresh from the release of Cloud Atlas, shooting has already begun on Jupiter Ascending. The film also stars Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, James D’Arcy, and Sean Bean.  Jupiter Ascending has its target release date on July 25, 2014.
