The GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot Paul Feig is on the Works
After all the long journey of development hell, it is only recently that all the unofficial talks have finally become official; It is now confirmed that there's finally going to be a new Ghostbusters movie. But it's going to be something many of us may not like. Paul Feig, the director of such comedies as "Bridesmaids" and "The Heat" is developing a reboot for "Ghostbusters" which will feature an all-female-lead and has confirmed this via an image of the four actresses on Twitter. Devlin and Emmerich will reimagine, reboot, and relaunch STARGATE
When STARGATE was released back in the late 90's it was something that we were in awe for, and instantly loved it (with many arguing that the movie-going world terribly missed Star Wars during that time), and it spawned a couple of spin-offs from animated series, direct-toDVD sequels, and the TV series Stargate SG-1 which served as a sequel to the movie . Now, its creators Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich venture out to into the Stargate and launch, not only a new movie, but a Stargate trilogy! [hit the jump to continue]

The "Khaleesi" Emilia Clarke Set to play Sarah Connor in the Terminator reboot
It looks like Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) has won out for the role of Sarah Connor in Skydance/Annapurna Pictures/Paramount’s Terminator reboot. The decision was down to Clarke and Brie Larson (Short Term 12) as to who would play the character made famous by Linda Hamilton’s badass performance in the original films. Clarke would play the mother to John Connor, a hero of the human revolution against the machines; Jason Clarke is currently in talks for the role. (Hey, at least they already have a last name in common.) Due to the near-twenty-year age difference between the two Clarkes, there’s likely a time-travel element to the reboot, which is set for release July 1, 2015. [Hit the jump to continue]

Simon Kinberg hired for rewrites on FANTASTIC FOUR; Script Overhaul? or Adjustment for an X-Men Cross-over?
Aside from the X-Men franchise, Fox is also in the process of developing a Fantastic Four reboot. Josh Trank (who directed the awesome movie CHRONICLE) will be directing this new F4 movie with Jeremy Slater to pen the script and Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) doing a polish on the screenplay. It seems like the screenplay history of this movie just keeps getting more complicated, as various reports note that Michael Green and T.S. Nowlin have also worked on versions of the script at one time or another. And now, Fox has tapped X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg to do a “significant” rewrite on the project, in what might appear as an overhaul of the screenplay. The Wolverine Redefined
One of the reasons why this is highly anticipated is the fact that this movie seeks to revitalize the character with a treatment designed to correct the wrongs of the previous movie, one that will render it "done right this time" [full article after the jump]

Ryan Reynolds quits the planned Highlander reboot/revival
It's as good as dead. Looks like the development for a HIGHLANDER reboot is dying, without much glint of hope. Ryan Reynolds who was previously attached to this project has quit. Last year, this project lost its targeted director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo as well. Reynolds would have played “Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman forced to confront the Kurgan, a brutal barbarian who lusts for the fabled ‘Prize.’” All hope for the reboot/revival for this cult fantasy franchise has now frozen back into development hell. If you ask me, it would be a miracle if they ever get to revive this terribly unappreciated franchise.

Schwarzenegger in talks to become The Toxic Avenger
Unexpected casting possibility of the day: Arnold Schwarzenegger in the reboot of The Toxic Avenger? Well, according to Variety, he’s in talks for a lead role in the film, even if it’s not the lead. While Schwarzenegger may end up co-starring, he won’t actually be playing the mutant main role. [read the rest of the article after the jump]

Fantastic Four Reboot Actively Being Developed
The first two Fantastic Four movies did not really hit gold with audiences and critics and quickly got dissolved, now 20th Century Fox has decided to rework its plans for the Marvel foursome; they have decided to reboot FANTASTIC FOUR. Matthew Vaughn (director of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, and the producer who shot Guy Ritchie into directorial fame) will be producing, while Josh Trank, who amazed the superhero movie world with his movie "Chronicle", will be directing the Fantastic Four reboot.
To top it off, writer Mark Millar has been hired by Fox to act as a “consultant” on all of their developing Marvel properties; that includes Fantastic Four and the X-Men characters (Daredevil, on the other hand, is now back in Marvel's hands). To those unfamiliar, Mark Millar is one of the most prominent writers in the comics world. He created Kick-Ass, Wanted, The Authority, and was the writer behind Marvel's Civil War. The Mummy gets a reboot
Len Wiseman to direct The Mummy reboot
[source: collider]
Things are moving rather quickly on Universal’s reboot of The Mummy. It was announced back in May that Star Trek screenwriters/prolific producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman would be developing reboots of both The Mummy and Van Helsing, with Tom Cruise attached to star in the latter. In subsequent interviews Kurtzman hinted at approaching the reboots with a darker tone than their original counterparts, and sure enough, Underworld and Total Recall director Len Wiseman is now being lined up to take the helm of The Mummy.
The script for the Mummy reboot is being written by Prometheus co-writer Jon Spaihts, and Wiseman tells Deadline that he connected with the project’s darker take:
“When I first heard Universal was relaunching this, that is the image that popped into my head, the period tale, the old monster, but when Bob and Alex pitched it, there was a great new take and approach, and a very different mummy as well. It’s a darker twist on the material, a scarier version.” [hit the jump to continue]

No "Batman 4" after The Dark Knight Rises
THE DARK KNIGHT ENDS
Why there will be NO “BATMAN 4” after The Dark Knight Rises; and what future holds for the Dark Knight?
by Xyde
Director Christopher Nolan has wowed Batman fans with his artistic approach to filming major studio films. His ability to wipe away all the harm that was done upon the character by Joel Schumacher's atrocious Batman and Robin, was truly remarkable. No longer was would a Batman film be a two hour long toy commercial
With all journeys they must come to an end and Christopher Nolan discusses the importance of bringing his trilogy to a rightful conclusion. Chris Nolan always considered (his) Batman a trilogy and, as such, the journey is about to be over soon.
