The "Khaleesi" Emilia Clarke Set to play Sarah Connor in the Terminator reboot

It looks like Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) has won out for the role of Sarah Connor in Skydance/Annapurna Pictures/Paramount’s Terminator reboot.  The decision was down to Clarke and Brie Larson (Short Term 12) as to who would play the character made famous by Linda Hamilton’s badass performance in the original films.  Clarke would play the mother to John Connor, a hero of the human revolution against the machines; Jason Clarke is currently in talks for the role. (Hey, at least they already have a last name in common.)  Due to the near-twenty-year age difference between the two Clarkes, there’s likely a time-travel element to the reboot, which is set for release July 1, 2015. Deadline reports that Emilia Clarke has landed the coveted role of Sarah Connor in the Terminator reboot, which may be titled Terminator: Genesis.  She’ll reunite with director Alan Taylor, who helmed six episodes of the HBO drama series, Game of Thrones. Emilia Clarke seems to be the perfect actress for the role coz she seems to be a dead ringer for Linda Hamilton.

TERMINATOR LEGACY CONTINUED WITH A FRESH START
In addition to the Clarkes, Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to reprise his role as the title cyborg.  Other than the likelihood of a trip into the future, little of the story has been revealed at this point.  It seems that there’s plenty of story to go around, however, as this film is but the first in a planned trilogy.  As if that weren’t enough, a TV series is in the works that will tie directly into the films.  Here’s what we know about the two projects:

The TV series will follow a critical moment from the first Terminator film (1984) and, where the film’s story goes one way, the upcoming series will take the same moment in a completely different direction. As the rebooted film trilogy and the new TV series progress, the two narratives will intersect with each other in some surprising and dramatic ways.

Everybody’s building a multimedia platform for their products these days, so if you’re a fan of Terminator, it sounds like there’s going to be quite a bit of material to sink your teeth into over the next few years.
