Director Christopher McQuarrie reveals Mission: Impossible 5 Details

Mission: Impossible 5 is looking to be one of the most highly-anticipated movies of this year. This movie franchise which started mellow, and was negatively defined by the extremely awful yet highly-popular Mission: Impossible 2, mildly redeemed by its "a whole lot better" part 3, then completely redeemed when part 4 (Ghost Protocol) came around. Mission: Impossible 5 Moves 5 Months Earlier

Good news for Mission Impossible fans! "Mission: Impossible 5" which was originally set for a December 25, 2015 release date is set to be released five months earlier than expected. The Wolverine review

THE WOLVERINE seeks to revitalize the comic book character Wolverine with a treatment designed to correct the wrongs of the previous movie, one that will render it "done right this time" And yes, it does accomplish that job.

Aside from the action, The Wolverine is more character-driven. People who expect the same kind of "fantastic fun" in other superhero movies may find the movie dragging, or even mediocre. Especially in the first half of the movie wherein which I loved the drama and the complex evolution of fates, following the journey of one man who is lost and feeling cursed by the pain of the past, and  has to live with it (eternally).

The Wolverine Redefined

One of the highly-anticipated movies this year is THE WOLVERINE starring Hugh Jackman, reprising his role as the savage mutant, directed by James Mangold, screenplay written by Christopher McQuarrie, Scott Frank, and Mark Bomback, and based on the 1982 limited series Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller.

Remake for Ice Station Zebra being Developed; Christopher McQuarrie may Write and Direct

Warner Bros. is remaking the Cold War thriller Ice Station Zebra and has tapped Christopher McQuarrie to write and direct it.

Made in 1968 by MGM, Zebra was an adaptation of an Alistair McLean novel that centered on an American Naval submarine team that races the Russians to retrieve sensitive photographic material in the Arctic. Torpedo blasts, saboteurs, double-crosses and double-agent civilian scientists caught in the cross-fire are part of the ensuing action. The movie starred Rock Hudson, Ernest Borgnine, Patrick McGoohan and Jim Brown and proved to be a major hit at the time.

McQuarrie is well-steeped in the world of shady characters having won an Oscar for penning The Usual Suspects and written thrillers like the Tom Cruise-starring Valkyrie and Jack Reacher.

The deal may impact the development of Paramount's Mission: Impossible 5, which McQuarrie is rumored to be the favorite to direct. Cruise is back to star in the action tentpole but there is no clear timetable for either movie project.

A Fifth Mission Impossible movie has been Greenlit

Tom Cruise has recently signed a deal to star in and produce Mission: Impossible 5 for Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions. There’s no official word on who will be writing and/or directing the next installment of the franchise, but Cruise’s Jack Reacher writer/director Christopher McQuarrie is supposedly in line to take the gig. but with Mcquarrie attached to the remake of Ice station zebra, we may possibly see a different director for the sequel.
