WB is now bent on making major changes in the management of DC Entertainment-centered films. [hit the jump to continue]

Is Jena Malone playing Robin in Batman v Superman?

Several sources have confirmed that Jena Malone will indeed appear in the upcoming DC film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", but there’s been no confirmation on which DC character will she be portraying. While I would personally think she would be great as the Superman villainess named Livewire, all the commonly-buzzing speculation points to the idea that she might be playing the character named Carrie Kelley who is best known as the female version of Batman's sidekick Robin. Shazam is DC's Next Movie in line; Dwayne Johnson to Star

Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that he will be part of DC's next superhero movie which is going to be Shazam. In the comics, Shazam is originally known as Captain Marvel, but the movie is said to use the name Shazam instead for the character. Shazam is the big hunky superhero whose alter-ego is actually just a kid named Billy Batson. Several reports indicate that Johnson might be playing either the title character Shazam or the villain Black Adam. But it seems like it's pretty easy to assume that he'll be playing the title character instead. [hit the jump to continue]

Zack Snyder will direct the Justice League movie

Days ago, we reported that the yet-untitled Zack Snyder Superman/Batman movie has added the character known as Cyborg as another one of the superheroes making an appearance in the movie (the other is Wonder Woman). Many have also noted that this upcoming movie is starting to look like a Justice League movie. Well, we knew that it would eventually come, but it's actually too soon for that. Now, it has been announced that there is indeed going to be a Justice League movie, and Zack Snyder will be the director. Justice League will shoot back-to-back with Superman/Batman, according to Borys Kit, reporter for the Wal Street Journal. Superman/Batman is set for a May 6, 2016 release, while the Justice League movie is set for 2017.

The Superhero Character named Cyborg to join the Untitled Superman/Batman Movie

Oh dont look now, coz theyre also adding the superhero CYBORG as one of the characters for the upcoming yet-untitled Superman/Batman movie. The sequel for MAN OF STEEL looks like it does not want to focus merely on Superman (played by Henry Cavill), but seems to be aimed at introducing a whole lot of characters. Of course, we already have Batman to be played by Ben Affleck, Wonder Woman who will be played by Gal Gadot. And now we're having Cyborg, and he will be played by Ray Fisher. Just like me, almost all of you may not know who Ray Fisher is. It's because he's not really an actor; Ray Fisher is an American football player.

In the comics, CYBORG is Victor Stone, while visiting his parents (who are scientists), a freak laboratory incident occurs and a monster severely mutilates him. In order to save his life, his father outfits him with experimental prosthetics of his own design.

Max Landis pitches for a Wonder Woman movie

WONDER WOMAN is a DC superhero property that studios have been trying to successfully adapt into either a movie or a TV series, that could cash in on the popularity and success of superhero movies and TV series. Now, the writer of CHRONICLE, Max Landis has set his sights on it and will give it a shot. While the Landis' draft for Chronicle 2 was rejected by Fox (the studio is going a different way on the potential follow-up), he recently revealed that he plans on pitching his own take on Wonder Woman to Warner Bros.  The studio has yet to officially announce a Wonder Woman film as in development, but the standalone feature is clearly in their plans as they make their way towards Justice League following 2015’s Batman vs. Superman. Ben Affleck is Batman

The wait is finally over. We now have a new Batman. Ending weeks of speculation, Ben Affleck has been set to star as Batman, a.k.a. Bruce Wayne.  Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character in Snyder’s as-yet-untitled project—bringing Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen and continuing the director’s vision of their universe, which he established in “Man of Steel.”  The announcement was made this week by Warner Bros. Pictures. The studio has slated the film to open worldwide on July 17, 2015.

DC/WB Plans Superman-Batman Movie for 2015 and The Flash for 2016

It's no secret that DC/Warner Bros. has been desperately trying hard to catch up, cash in on the trend, and follow on the formula of Marvel's ultra-successful Avengers movie phenomenon. A Justice League movie has been planned and repetitiously failed to launch (what with the failure of Green Lantern and the unaired Wonder Woman TV series). Now, with the success of MAN OF STEEL, DC/Warner strikes while the iron is hot by following it up with a sequel that is a SUPERMAN-BATMAN movie to be released by 2015, and "tentatively" to be followed by a FLASH movie on 2016. And possibly a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie by 2017. [read more after the jump]

Christian Bale renounces any Involvement in the planned Justice League movie

Christian Bale has denied having any involvement with the planned Justice League movie, and expresses his enthusiasm about the Batman mantle to be taken on by new people.

The team of Chris Nolan and Christian Bale have successfully created a great Batman trilogy. A trilogy that seems to be created in a more real-world setting that would not seem to blend well with the fantasy/sci-fi aspects of other DC characters.

In case you did not know, Nolan's and Bale's run on Batman has already ended. Nolan himself has expressed that he would not continue the franchise, and that it would be more ideal to give the Batman franchise a re-introduction, with the kind of Batman that would possess the serious brooding atmosphere of the Nolan movies, but could also be the kind that would blend well with the other DC character's universe. MAN OF STEEL has been gathering strong positive buzz, what with the convincing trailers heating up hype, and the overall consensus of critics and audiences who got to screen the movie ahead of its scheduled release. MAN OF STEEL promises critical and box-office gold. So much so that Warner Brothers is greenlighting the sequel to this new Superman franchise with the same team; writer/director team of David S. Goyer and Snyder will return as the creative team behind the sequel. Not only that, WB is also positive about getting onboard with the idea of Justice League movie this time. FABLES set for a Film Adaptation

One of the best comic books, and one of the most highly-praised comics series (and winner of 14 Eisner Awards), to come out of DC's Vertigo is FABLES. The series deals with various characters from fairy tales and folklore – referring to themselves as "Fables" – who have been forced out of their Homelands by "The Adversary" who has conquered the realm. The Fables have traveled to our world and formed a clandestine community in New York City known as Fabletown. Fables who are unable to blend in with human society (such as monsters and anthropomorphic animals) live at "the Farm" in upstate New York. Now, FABLES is set to be adapted into a film.
