Josh Brolin is the Voice of Thanos
If there's one character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that fans are so excited to finally see, it's the big bad villain Thanos who was teased in the last part of The Avengers movie, and will also be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy, and is obviously anticipated to be the big villain for Marvel's Phase 3 with the third Avengers movie. Obviously, the character will mostly be CGI, but it is the voice actor who will provide more of the soul of the character (they'll also probably do a Motion-Capture for that actor (just as in the case of Mark Ruffalo for Hulk) to enable him to do physical acting to go along with the animated character as well. That actor who will do so has already been named. It's gonna be JOSH BROLIN! [hit the jump to continue]

Paul Bettany is the Vision for Avengers 2
Many had previously speculated that Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson would fill this role following his death in the first Avengers, but that obviously didn’t come to pass as he’s alive and well on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. [hit the jump to continue]

Paul Rudd is Marvel's Ant-Man
For several months now, there has been much speculation on who will be the lead to play the lead character in Marvel’s “Ant-Man”... now it's official: Paul Rudd will be the one to don the costume of the Avenger superhero; The Ant-Man. Months ago the candidates who were lined up for consideration were Simon Pegg, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Paul Rudd himself. Even back then, we though Rudd was the best choice (Pegg was too comedy, while JGL was too ...pop). Anyway, JGL now has the (DC Vertigo) Sandman role and Pegg is still a funny comedian, so, everybody happy. Paul Rudd is perfect for Ant-Man, the Marvel superhero who has the ability to shrink into the size of an ant, and also grow into the size of a giant.
"Ant-Man" will be the first movie to immediately kick-off Marvel's phase three. Phase two ends with “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, 2015 and "Ant-Man" immediately arrives on theaters July 31, 2015. [hit the jump to continue]

Aaron Taylor-Johnson officially confirmed to play Quicksilver in Avengers 2
It's now officially confirmed; Aaron Taylor-Johnson will indeed play the character of Quicksilver in the upcoming "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" although the actor really made no secret of the fact that he was in ongoing negotiations to join the ensemble of the movie. Initially, there was concern over whether the filming schedule of Age of Ultron would conflict with Taylor-Johnson’s promotional duties on Godzilla, which opens next May. Now, things have patched-up well and the actor will be fighting alongside the Avengers and the newcomers which include Elizabeth Olsen who will play Quicksilver’s sister Scarlet Witch and James Spader who will be playing the pic’s baddie, the titular evil robot Ultron. "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is scheduled for release on May 1, 2015.

Elizabeth Olsen is Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron -according to Samuel Jackson
With the Marvel Phase 2 ball already rolling with Iron Man 3 last summer and Thor: The Dark World early next month, Marvels' The Avengers: Age of Ultron is fast approaching. Writer-director Joss Whedon and his cast and crew are prepping up this grand sequel. Among the new characters that will be improved in the Age of Ultron is the mutant Scarlet Witch and her brother Quicksilver. While it was reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson had entered talks to play Quicksilver and by now Marvel has not yet made an official announcement, it can be safely assumed that he will indeed end up playing the part. As for Scarlet Witch, Saoirse Ronan had initially been strongly considered for the part, but denies any involvement with the project (some sources say she declined the part, which led us to our own speculations). Not much later, Elizabeth Olsen has been in the rumor mill to be taking on the role of the Scarlet Witch instead. Again, no confirmations have been released by the studio as of yet. But this week, Samuel Jackson has spilled the beans on her involvement, and confirms, yes, Elizabeth Olsen will indeed be Scarlet Witch. [hit the jump to continue]

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will Not be like the Comics Storyline; Whedon provides details for Avengers 2
This is a case of geeks trying to expect the movies to absolutely copy the comics. Well, that isn't going to happen with The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Age of Ultron may have the same title with the comicbook storyline, but it will, most definitely, create its own storyline with what has already been established in the other movies. And THAT has been confirmed by Joss Whedon himself. [Hit the jump for the detailed report]

The Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch Appearances in Avengers 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past
The Comicbook characters Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver, and Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch, in the Marvel Comics Universe are members of the superhero team The Avengers. Now, the movie Avengers 2 is currently in active production (what with the start of Marvel's Phase 2 movies, beginning with Iron Man 3) and has included both superhero characters to make an appearance in that sequel. It just so happened that the upcoming movie X-Men: Days of Future Past will also have both characters make an appearance in that movie. Because aside from being Avengers, both comicbook characters are also mutants, and are the children of Magneto, one of the most important characters of the X-Men Universe. Robert Downey Jr. to Retire from Iron Man Role
Robert Downey Jr. is undoubtedly the reason why Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man is one of the best characters (and one of the most interesting at that) to ever come out of a superhero movie. But all good things should have a nice pleasant ending, and of course, Downey cannot play that role forever. More than once, has he expressed his plans to retire from the role of Iron Man, and probably from other genre movie roles such as Sherlock Holmes, and focus more on personal simple, small movies. This means that Iron Man 3 and his contract commitment to Avengers 2 will be his last movie where we will be able to see him as Iron Man / Tony Stark. [READ THE FULL STORY AFTER THE JUMP]

Disney officially confirms Avengers 2
![]() |
| gonna be back for more... |
by Reymundo Salao
It seems extremely obvious that there is indeed going to be an Avengers 2. Disney is now confirming it officially. Disney CEO Bob Iger has recently announced that the studio is developing a sequel to The Avengers, adding that the film’s success “is a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much.”
True-blue Marvel geeks who have sat through the extra scene at the end of the animated credits now know very well who the next big bad villain is gonna be; and he is more than fitting to take on the Avengers. Although no official date has been marked for Avengers 2 as of yet, the studio has earlier announced that there's still an untitled Marvel movie slated for release in 2014. Could it be Avengers 2? Or maybe Ant-Man? We don’t know that yet.
So just who is this villain for Avengers 2? Will Joss Whedon be back to direct Avengers 2? Read on to find out…
