This sunday, June 28, 2015 (1:00 PM), the FDCP Cinematheque will bring us a one-time screening of Lav Diaz's five-hour award winning epic "Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon" this screening is part of the World Premieres Film Festival featured by the Film Development Council of the Philippines for this week. Tom Holland is Spider-man; and Jon Watts is its director

The wait is over. Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are proud to announce that after a full worldwide casting search, Tom Holland will play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the next Spider-Man film, set for release on July 28, 2017.  The film will be directed by Jon Watts, director of “Cop Car,” the upcoming thriller that made its debut earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. This week, the World Premieres Film Festival will be featured at the FDCP Cinematheque, and will be screening various films from the fest. The screening of the WPFF Films will run from June 24 to 30, 2015. Admission is only P 100. Vin Diesel is Kojak

News is out that "Fast & Furious" actor Vin Diesel is developing a film adaptation based on the 1970's cop show, "Kojak", being set up as starring vehicle for Diesel. Universal Pictures has hired screenwriter Philip Gawthorne to write the screenplay. Gawthorne had recently signed on to pen a remake of the sci-fi thriller "Cube" for Lionsgate.

The original "Kojak" starred actor Telly Savales as Detective Theo Kojak who worked out of the New York Police Department bringing criminals and drug dealers to justice. [hit the jump to continue]

The film "Dagitab" which topbills Eula Valdes will be screened this week at the FDCP Cinematheque. "Dagitab" is the story of a marriage falling apart, meanwhile the man is haunted by illusions and delusions of a supernatural being in the guise of an old flame. "Dagitab" will run from June 16 to 21, and June 23, 2015 (Tues-Thurs 3:30 & 5:30, Fri-Sun 1:30, 3:30 & 5:30). Admission is only P 100. A Farewell to the Late Great Christopher Lee

The great Christopher Lee passed away recently. The screen legend famous for roles in Hammer Horror films, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars passed away after suffering heart and respiratory problems. Lee died at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on 7 June 2015, shortly after celebrating his 93rd birthday there. His wife delayed the public announcement until 11 June, in order to break the news to their family. He was 93. Now, it's time to look back at the career of the legendary performer.
