Disney officially confirms Avengers 2

gonna be back for more...
AVENGERS 2 is definitely going to happen
by Reymundo Salao

It seems extremely obvious that there is indeed going to be an Avengers 2. Disney is now confirming it officially. Disney CEO Bob Iger has recently announced that the studio is developing a sequel to The Avengers, adding that the film’s success “is a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much.”

True-blue Marvel geeks who have sat through the extra scene at the end of the animated credits now know very well who the next big bad villain is gonna be; and he is more than fitting to take on the Avengers. Although no official date has been marked for Avengers 2 as of yet, the studio has earlier announced that there's still an untitled Marvel movie slated for release in 2014. Could it be Avengers 2? Or maybe Ant-Man? We don’t know that yet.

So just who is this villain for Avengers 2? Will Joss Whedon be back to direct Avengers 2? Read on to find out…

The currently boiling success of The Avengers movie is its writer and director Joss Whedon, next to it is the film’s great cast. But Whedon, most of all, should be on the studio’s priority and be careful of securing him for the future Avengers movies. No official word is out yet if Whedon is onboard, but everything involving the movie and its future plans does look like it has Whedon as its main architect. It would be illogical if Whedon weren’t onboard, and it would be incredibly stupid if the studios exclude him from the project.

Disney CEO Bob Iger says
“From The Avengers we get a chance to make Thor 2 and Captain America 2 and Iron Man 3 and hopefully another Avengers movie.”

He adds
“The Avengers is more than just a movie; it’s a franchise”
There you have it; it’s not gonna be just one, it’s gonna be an Avengers series of movies.

But that means we would have to go through the other Marvel movie sequels first (of course). But if the unannounced 2014 Marvel movie turns out to actually be Avengers 2, then that would mean that they would have to cram the Marvel sequels for, what, 2 years..? That might probably include other Marvel movies like the rumored Ant-Man and Wasp movie. We’d see more than just one Marvel movie a year? It’s crazy. But that is unconfirmed yet. For now let’s be glad that Avengers 2 is officially a Go.

If you have watched the extra scene from The Avengers, it is revealed that Thanos will have some involvement, if not probably the main villain of the next movie.

THANOS is a mad titan who is fascinated with nihilism and death, eventually falling in love with its embodiment, Mistress Death. He is one of those infamous villains in the Marvel comics universe whom you would need at least a squad of superheroes to defeat. Thanos has killed more than a planet’s number of lives. At the end of The Avengers movie when we see his henchman saying “to defeat them, you would have to court Death” and then he responds with a big wide grin, it’s because he is constantly excited to kill a great number of lives again. With him as a villain for Avengers 2, you can expect a grand battle royale.

We will keep you updated with more Avengers news…
