Jason Statham will Return for Furious 8

We already know that an Eighth Fast & Furious movie will be made and is already slated for release on April 14, 2017. We already know that Dwayne Johnson is returning and the central “family” will likely remain intact—though sadly without Paul Walker—but what of the villains? Well, we now know that Jason Statham will be back for the new movie. [hit the jump to continue]

Jason Statham's character Deckard Shaw first appeared at the end of Fast & Furious 6 to tease his larger role in Furious 7 as the brother of the FF6 villain played by Luke Evans. [SPOILER] At the end of FF7, Statham's character did not die, and instead ended up in some kind of super villain jail. It's obvious that we'll be seeing him again in the sequel, and now he did confirm that he'll continue to haunt Dom and his gang for Furious 8.

In a recent interview, Statham revealed that his character of Deckard Shaw will indeed be returning for Furious 8:
“We’re already talking about doing another one, Part 8. I’m a newcomer, I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another.”

During the filming of Furious 7, its original third act was intended to set up Kurt Russell’s enigmatic covert ops leader for Furious 8, but after the passing of Walker the film was retooled as tribute to the late actor. We can still reasonably expect Russell’s character to have a significant role in Furious 8, and now it appears that Statham will be along for the ride as well

There's also the long standing rumor that Eva Mendes, who appeared as a main character in the second Fast & Furious movie, will return for the sequel. As of the moment, it's just speculation and fan rumor. But that rumor's not as spicy as the one that states that Furious 8 will be shot in the Philippines. Okay, so it's not a rumor that Vin Diesel actually said that they want some scenes to be shot here. But let's not pop the champagne yet because, no official statement from the studios or the producers has said that as of yet. So, just calm down and wait for official word, Furious Fans.
