Schwarzenegger is Back! He targets to be around on the sequels to TERMINATOR, TWINS, CONAN, EXPENDABLES; and set to appear in TEN and ESCAPE PLAN

After quite a long time, Schwarzenegger is BACK. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back for another TERMINATOR movie. The legendary action actor is also setting his sights on a Conan sequel entitled KING CONAN, a TWINS sequel, and to make another appearance in the third EXPENDABLES movie. Terminator 5 is set to shart shooting in January 2014. But before that, we will be seeing Schwarzenegger in January with the movie TEN, and on October this year with the movie ESCAPE PLAN. Paramount Pictures was in talks to distribute the upcoming Terminator sequel, and that the pieces were falling into place with Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) working on a script.  Justin Lin was initially the choice to direct. But there are no confirmations made yet. Schwarzenegger has stated that he will be playing a Terminator, reprising a previous role. But I, including many of you, may agree that he seems too old for the role. I dont mind seeing him in the next Terminator movie, but perhaps more in a role that fits him and his age, and perhaps maybe let the Terminators be played by CGI versions of him.

"In fact, I’m very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator, which we start shooting in January and I’m also going to do King Conan – to play that role and also to do another Twins movie. So I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I’m looking forward to doing those films." say Schwarzenegger via TheArnoldFans website.

KING CONAN
KING CONAN is something that I personally would like to see. For me, the quintissential and the best Schwarzenegger movie was (the first, 1982) "Conan the Barbarian" In the new Conan movie being planned, Conan will be having not much of the muscle-bound action that he used to do in the 80's. It was screenwriter/producer Chris Morgan (Wanted), whose passion for bringing Conan the Barbarian back to the big screen also managed to convince Arnold Schwarzenegger to reprise the role. According to Morgan:
“He’s not going out and fighting battles, but he ends up getting drawn into something. And he has to access the barbarian he was in his youth. I love that Conan has been many things in his life, notably a pirate, a major tactician and a commander of men. In this movie, we’re going to tap into some of those things – things you haven’t seen on screen yet.”

Morgan is a big fan of the John Milius 1982 Conan, which is a really good thing for this franchise. He adds:
“I want the warrior whose joints have started to fuse together, who has to crack the cartilage so he can pick up a sword again. I want the guy who’s not necessarily lost a step, but there’s some rust he has to shake off. I want to embrace that. It makes it a greater hero story. Conan needs to be faced with challenges. The greatest challenge to him isn’t the armies that are set before him. It’s, on some level, self-doubt, a little bit of slowing down and forcing yourself to be heroic beyond what people expect of you. What I don’t want is for him to step back in and look the same. That would defeat the purpose of our story.”

He adds
“No matter what, I’ll be there every step of the way. Whether it’s penning this quickly or selecting the writer, it’s me guiding the process or being a real honest-to-god producer. I’m excited either way. I’m really, really stoked.”

TWINS 2: TRIPLETS
As for the Twins sequel, Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are planning to reprise their roles from the 1988 comedy Twins in a sequel called Triplets with Eddie Murphy playing their long-lost sibling. I personally dont like this idea. Although Arnold may seem like an interesting novelty in comedies, it is in comedies like this that gradually killed his career. But then again, an aging Schwarzenegger seems too unfit to be in the action genre anymore. Plus, his serious acting is not very impressive. Perhaps Arnie should find himself a really really good comedy writers and directors to save his career.

TEN
TEN is an action thriller with Arnold Schwarzenegger, co-starring Joe Manganiello (HBO’s True Blood, Magic Mike), Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation), Harold Perrineau (Zero Dark Thirty, FX’s Sons Of Anarchy), Terrence Howard (Red Tails, On The Road), Josh Holloway (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), Olivia Williams (Anna Karenina), Mireille Enos (Gangster Squad). The film is directed by David Ayer (End Of Watch), the original screenplay for TEN is by Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, A Good Day To Die Hard).  Producers are Bill Block, Paul Hanson, Joe Roth, Palak Patel and Al Ruddy.

In this movie, Arnold Schwarzengger leads an elite DEA task force that takes on the world’s deadliest drug cartels. When the team successfully executes a high-stakes raid on a cartel safe house, they think their work is done – until, one-by-one, the ten members mysteriously start to be eliminated.

Just basing off the production photo, the film makes Schwarzenegger look bad-ass cool. He looks like he's sporting a look that is best suited for his age; a kind of senior citizen bad-ass. I think he should make a movie with Stephen Lang (the main villain in Avatar and the Conan the Barbarian remake/reboot)

TEN is scheduled for a January 24, 2014 release date.

ESCAPE PLAN
Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger stars side-by-side in this movie directed by Jan Mikael Håfström who had directed the Stephen King movie 1408 (starring Samuel Jackson and John Cusack), and The Rite (with Anthony Hopkins).

In this movie, Ray Breslin (Stallone), the world’s foremost authority on structural security, agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.” But when he is wrongly imprisoned, he must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.

Stallone and Schwarzenegger stars alongside Jim Caviezel, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D'Onofrio, Sam Neill, and rapper 50 Cent. This film is set for an October 18, 2013 release date.

Schwarzenegger will also be around in EXPENDABLES 3 which has an August 2014 release date. There, he will be sharing the screen with a flood of oldies action icons (as always expected off an Expendables movie).

Schwarzenegger's comeback movie "The Last Stand" flopped in the box office, which means that Schwarzenegger will have a difficult time getting back into the lordship status he had in the 80's and 90's. He will have to be wise about it and choose his roles well.
