Updated: Evil Dead will Not be Shown in Iloilo at all
I just received TERRIBLE news about this movie. EVIL DEAD will not be shown in Robinson's Movieworld. The previous news for this says that it will not be shown in SM Cinema as well because of their R-18 policy. Columbia Pictures Philippines has stated that the screening of this movie will only be for Ayala Cinemas, and so because there's no Ayala Cinema in Iloilo.... Basically, EVIL DEAD will not be shown in Iloilo at all. Wow. This does really encourage us all to resort to torrents, doesn't it? [READ THE FULL ARTICLE]
THE EVIL DEAD LEGACY
This upcoming EVIL DEAD movie is a remake of the 1981 movie with the same title. The original Evil Dead movie was considered one of the most scariest movies of all time. It spawned a sequel Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn which revolutionized horror movies, creating a genre that mixes some element of comedy in it. The third movie in the Evil Dead series was Evil Dead 3, or better known by its other title: ARMY OF DARKNESS (yes, the guy with the chainsaw fighting medieval zombies, I'm confident you have seen this). The Evil Dead trilogy is one of the very few trilogies with a flawlessness that boasts that all three movies were equally magnificent. From its B-movie status and cult following that, over time, had become legitimately historic cinema. Its creator Sam Raimi was later on best known by the mainstream as the director of the tobey Maguire Spider-man movies. This 2013 remake of Evil Dead is co-written and directed by Fede Alvarez. It is the fourth installment of the Evil Dead franchise, serving as both a reboot and as a loose continuation of the series. Sam Raimi himself picked the director Fede Alvarez. This movie was released in the US last April 5, 2013 and received high positive reviews, and has probably lived up to its tagline "The most terrifying film you will ever experience"
PHILIPPINE RELEASE
EVIL DEAD has had special screenings last April 22 & 23, exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3, Trinoma, Alabang Town Center, Market! Market!, Ayala Center Cebu, Marquee (Central Luzon), Abreeza (Davao), Harbor Point (Subic) and Centrio (Cagayan de Oro). Yes, too bad we don't have Ayala theaters here in Iloilo. EVIL DEAD opens in Philippine theaters, with the exception of SM Cinema, this Wednesday May 8, 2013.
