Sony's Masters of the Universe Searches for Director

Sony Pictures has confirmed that it has indeed been developing a live-action Masters of the Universe movie based on the popular 80's cartoon "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" The Studio has been developing it with filmmaker McG, but to those who do not like McG's style (including myself), we've got good news; it looks like he's not involved with the project anymore.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt picked to star and direct SANDMAN

SANDMAN was one of those comic book/graphic novel materials that are considered as too sacred to be adapted into a movie. Now, it seems that the plans for a movie adaptation will finally be initialized. David Goyer (Man of Steel) pitched an idea for the adaptation that WB is keen on, and they are looking at Joseph Gordon-Levitt to not only star and produce, but also direct the film. David S. Goyer wants to Write Sandman Adaptation

Renowned screenwriter (of comicbook adaptations) David S. Goyer has pitched an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's signature comic Sandman to Warner Bros - but warns this could-be project is in the very earliest of stages. Essentially now it's just talk. Their source says that notable comic book writer Geoff Johns is lending his weight to Goyer's proposition. Moreover, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is said to be interested in working on this could-be feature.

The Sandman is a comic book series written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics' Vertigo. The Sandman's main character is Dream, the Lord of Dreams, also known as Morpheus, who is essentially the anthropomorphic personification of dreams. At the start of the series, Morpheus is captured by an occult ritual and held prisoner for 70 years. Morpheus escapes in the modern day and, after avenging himself upon his captors, sets about rebuilding his kingdom, which has fallen into disrepair in his absence. [hit the jump to continue]

MAN OF STEEL review

'Epic' is easily a term that best describes the movie. A storyline that starts in incredible chaos, boils in emotional character development laced with a script very rich in heart and thought, and follows the journey of a protagonist that embraces the ideals of being a savior.

The storyline is more rounded, and makes perfect sense. Everything that felt so ridiculous before in the Superman mythos, now made sense; from his superhero costume, to the reason why Superman's weakness can be caused by Kryptonite is even addressed. It feels like all the characters are properly fleshed out. The villain has a reasonable motivation, and the back characters have their own opinions to share, that all made sense. Snyder, Goyer, Cavill, and Warner Brothers already setting their sights on Man of Steel sequel

MAN OF STEEL has been gathering strong positive buzz, what with the convincing trailers heating up hype, and the overall consensus of critics and audiences who got to screen the movie ahead of its scheduled release. MAN OF STEEL promises critical and box-office gold. So much so that Warner Brothers is greenlighting the sequel to this new Superman franchise with the same team; writer/director team of David S. Goyer and Snyder will return as the creative team behind the sequel. Not only that, WB is also positive about getting onboard with the idea of Justice League movie this time.
