X-Men Apocalypse Casting: In and Out

1. Saoirse Ronan, 2. Sophie Turner, 3. Zendaya Coleman, 4. Alexandra Shipp, 5. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, 6. Taron Egerton, 7. Tye Sheridan, 8. Jamie Blackley
As the next chapter in the X-Men series X-Men: Apocalypse is set to begin production this year, director Bryan Singer is heating up his casting search.  We previously learned that Oscar Isaac will be playing the titular villain Apocalypse. Now, we found out that the movie will be introducing young versions of mutants Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm with new actors playing these roles. We also found out that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will not be reprising their roles as Professor X and Magneto, as the timeline of this movie will be set in the 80's. [hit the jump to continue]

Patrick Stewart had this to say in an interview...
“I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters. And so I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance.”
Stewart and McKellen had a great run in the X-Men movie series, and perhaps it is indeed time for them to move on from this series which already had successfully rebooted.

As for the newcomers to the X-Men universe, Chloe Grace Moretz  was the first who was picked to play Jean Grey but she was forced to pass on the role due to scheduling issues.  Among the new actresses being eyed for the role are "Hanna" actress Saoirse Ronan and "Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner (aka Sansa Stark). Both are equally magnificent actresses who can show real potential.

For Storm, there's newcomers Alexandra Shipp, who played Aaliyah in the TV movie "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B" and Zendaya Coleman from the TV series "Shake It Up" and "K.C. Undercover" are the actresses set to test for that role. I would wanna wish to see a mohawk-80's-era-X-Men-comics Storm in this movie, since the film is set in the 80's. I personally have been haunted in wishing that the role would be best suited for Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha/Tyrese's sister) from The Walking Dead because her beauty is more African, which would of course fit the role of Storm who is herself African.

For Cyclops, "Kingsman: The Secret Service" star Taron Egerton, "If I Stay" star Jamie Blackley and "Mud" breakout Tye Sheridan are all testing for the role.

Filming is slated to begin in April, and is set for official release on May 27, 2016.
