Early this year,
we reported that Fox has had plans to make a Magic: The Gathering movie with Simon Kinberg (Star Wars and X-Men writer/producer) as producer. Now, a writer for the project has been named; According to Deadline, Game of Thrones screenwriter/producer Bryan Cogman has been tapped to pen the screenplay for Magic: The Gathering. A choice that will surely make fanboys drool in excitement.
While David Benioff and Dan Weiss write nearly every episode of Game of Thrones themselves, Cogman has written at least one episode from each season, including this year’s “Oathkeeper” and “The Laws of Gods and Men”. A production start date and a target release date has not yet been hinted as of the moment.
