Release Dates Moved for 300: Rise of an Empire and All You Need Is Kill

300: Rise of an Empire doesnt look like its getting some excitement buzz, perhaps that is why Warner Bros. is moving its release schedule to March 7, 2014. Meanwhile, "All You Need Is Kill" will also be moved to June 6, 2014. [read full article after the jump]

Warner Bros. is doing some tinkering with their release schedule and have decided to shuffle some things around. The first adjustment they've made is to the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire, which was originally scheduled for an August 2, 2013 release and has now been pushed to March 7, 2014. This early spring move puts the film in a similar release window to its predecessor. The other change is that the Tom Cruise-starring All You Need Is Kill is going from a March 7 release to the higher profile date of June 6, 2014.

300: Rise of an Empire, a follow-up to Zack Snyder's 2006 original (in turn based on Frank Miller's 1998 comic book miniseries), is expected to tell, in part, the story of Greek General Themistocles, who lead Athens against Persian invaders in a battle that played out simultaneously with the Battle of Thermopylae (depicted in the first film).

All You Need Is Kill stars Tom Cruise as Bill Cage, who must relive the same brutal battle against an unrelenting alien race in the epic sci-fi thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Jonas Armstrong, Tony Way, Kick Gurry, Franz Drameh, Dragomir Mrsic and Charlotte Riley.
