TV Series set within the Marvel Universe/Avengers Consistency being planned

Marvel has achieved ultra success with this year's AVENGERS. So where do they go from there? We have previously reported that all roads lead to an Avengers 2, and it has to go through a second phase of movies building up to that sequel. But the Marvel Universe is so vast and has an almost countless number of characters and stories to tell. It would most certainly be a pity if Marvel does not strike the iron while its hot; why not extend this vastness into television?

This is indeed being a confirmed reality as Marvel has recently revealed that they are indeed developing a TV series which is related and is part of the continuity of the Avengers movie.

Deadline reports that Marvel’s Television has started a dialogue with ABC and ABC Studios about making a live-action drama series set in the Avengers universe.  The project is in a very early stage of development and understandably may not include any of the superheroes.  Marvel is reportedly exploring several possible scenarios, including a high-concept cop show.

For now, we can only guess and are only up to our speculations as to what this series might be. It could be a S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Of course, this TV Show could possibly a long-term set-up for details surrounding the upcoming movies; it could also feature characters, and maybe minor villains that may or may not have a minor part on the grander Marvel movies. Take for example, popular villains like Stilt-Man, The Vulture, or even Baron Zemo, which are characters that may not be too big to be part of the movies, and story-wise can actually be handled by a non-superhero unit.

Yes, for now, we can only guess. But at least, it is something to look forward to...
