The Films of Elvert Bañares to be screened at the Taboan 2016

In connection with the Iloilo Taboan 2016: West Visayan Literary Festival to be held on October 21-22 at the University of San Agustin, Casa Real Iloilo, and Cinematheque Iloilo, the event will feature a segment that will showcase the short films of contemporary filmmaker and CineKasimanwa festival director Prof. Elvert Bañares at FDCP Cinematheque Iloilo. Ten of Bañares' short films will be screened. Four of them will make their Western Visayan premiere: "Impas", "One", "Gemini", "9:28 Umaga sa Kartaxim" and "Plema". The rest of the list include "Itiwarik - Talu Saling Batas", "Sukdulan Ng Pagrahuyo Sa Dambana Ng Sirenang Walang Ulo", "Nykto", "Leave A Light (Music Video)", and "Ang Bayan Kong Payapa". Admission is free. 

Coincidentally, Bañares' film "Impas" will have its Philippine Premiere a day before TABOAN 2016 at the QCinema International Film Festival and will also screen at the Spanish Film Festival the day after.

Director Elvert C. Bañares is an independent filmmaker, multi-disciplinary artist, production designer and educator. He is the founder and festival director of The ASEAN Film Festival; eKsperim[E]nto Festival of Film, Video & New Media; Bakunawa Film Festival; and CineKasimanwa, The Western Visayas Film Festival.
