The Craft is up for a Remake

1996's "The Craft" may not necessarily be a masterpiece but it has left some degree of pop-culture impression at the time. Now, Sony Pictures is remaking this cult teen horror film. [hit the jump to continue]
Leigh Janiak, director of "Honeymoon" will direct The Craft remake and co-write the script alongside her Honeymoon co-writer Phil Graziadei. The 1996 original starred Neve Cambell, Fairuza Balk and Rachel True as a clique of Catholic school girls dabbling in the dark arts when Robin Tunney, a natural witch, completes the corners, giving them all dangerous powers.

"The Craft" of 1996 left quite an impression at the time because it was considered to be, pretty much, a teen flick. I am not surprised that the studio would dig it up for a remake, especially since the Twilight and tween market has been proven to drive in high profit for the studios. The cast and a release date is yet to be announced.
