Mission: Impossible 5 Moves 5 Months Earlier

Good news for Mission Impossible fans! "Mission: Impossible 5" which was originally set for a December 25, 2015 release date is set to be released five months earlier than expected. This is most excellent for us Filipino audiences because this spares us from having to wait until the first week of January 2016 to watch it. [hit the jump to continue]

As most of you know, the Christmas week screenings are officially exclusive only to Metro Manila Film Festival movies, and all foreign release and non-MMFF movies' releases are suspended until the festival season ends. Now that the release date of MI5 is not Christmas day anymore, we are spared from this delay. Mission: Impossible 5 will now open on July 31st, 2015.

This is a wise move from Paramount, steering clear, away from that gigantic and enormous movie that will come out that month. Even though "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will open weeks before December 25, it would be surmised that audiences would still be running their box office routes on to Star Wars. Releasing MI5 too close to Star Wars could only do Tom Cruise's movie at a disadvantage.

"Mission: Impossible 5" is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, and stars Tom Cruse alongside Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, Rebecca Ferguson, and Alec Baldwin. The last movie M:I movie "Ghost Protocol" has somehow redeemed the lousy image of the previous movies, and I am positively looking forward for a continuance of this awesomeness.
