Cinekasimanwa 2 Facbook Site launched and Extension of Entry Deadline

We are at the doorsteps of November and December is getting really close now; The second Cinekasimanwa: The Western Visayas Film Festival is fast approaching. We dropped by last weekend at the FDCP Cinematheque office and found out that there have already been a number of entry films that have been submitted for the festival.

This week, the official facebook site of Cinekasimanwa 2, along with its beautiful new festival posters were launched. The new facebook site [www.facebook.com/cinekasimanwa2014] has also announced the extended deadline for entries, now set on or before November 25, 2014. The festival itself will be held on December 8 to 14, 2014. The event will have three venues at the same time; it will be at the SM City Cinemas, the FDCP Cinematheque, and the UPV Cinematheque; same as last year. [hit the jump to continue]

As for the poster, world-renowned, internationally-published and award-winning photo artist, Manny Librodo, provides all three art photographs as the official carrier images for this year's Festival Posters. Librodo, a proud Ilonggo, is also a pride of Region VI, Western Visayas. He hails from Lambunao, Iloilo and has toured the world to showcase his photography. American ace photographer Scott Kelby named Librodo as one of the top five photographers in the world. His photographs saw print in many prestigious magazines and publications including Vogue, Asian Geographic, UNICEF, etc. He has conducted popular workshops in US, Canada, Australia, Holland, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Hongkong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, etc. He is an official ambassador of Sony Philippines and his works have more than 22 million hits in www.pbase.com. Manny Librodo has won countless competitions online and on print. He is a three time Grand Prize Winner in www.beterphoto.com; First Place in Dusk till Dawn Category, POTY - Digital Camera Magazine; two-time Finalist Travel Photographer of the Year, TPOTY.

CineKasimanwa: The Western Visayas Film Festival is the first film festival in the world to carry the art photographs of Mr. Manny Librodo. Being one of the world's best photographers, CineKasimanwa Film Festival is most honored to present his very beautiful creations to the public through our film festival collaterals. Western Visayas celebrates the beauty and grandeur of Manny Librodo's art photographs through CineKasimanwa 2014's Film Festival posters.

Last year, Iloilo and Panay had witnessed a cultural milestone as the first Cinekasimanwa: The Panay Islands Film Festival was launched, and it had opened the floodgates for Iloilo and Panay's film artists take center stage and be acknowledged. The event was a success, and now on its second year, Cinekasimanwa 2 promises to be bigger and better.

The Cinekasimanwa is a joint effort of the Negros Museum, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, FDCP Iloilo Cinematheque, the Department of Tourism in Western Visayas and the soon to be launched Ilonggo Filmmakers Network.

The festival will accept works of any genre or theme including documentaries, animation and experimental films. All our programs are curated. CineKasimanwa's current special sections are: (1) Full-length films; (2) Short Films by and for children; (3) Moo-Moo-an Sa Tunganggab-i (Horror Shorts); (4) Mga Sintas Nga May Sagisag Kultura (Western Visayas Icons in Curated Short Films); (5) Films by and/or starring Western Visayas Actors; (6) Expanded Cinema & New Media.
