The Cine Europa 17 Day 4; The Reception Evening will be expecting Distinguished Guests in Attendance

The Cine Europa 17 film festival is already on its Day Four, but today is the formal reception event for the festival, with cocktails to be served at Cinematheque Iloilo. It will be attended by EU Delegation representative Ms. Jennifer Buan-Robles, Senior Press & Cultural Affairs Officer of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with Fleur Edens, Mike dela Rosa, FDCP Philippine Film Export Service Office (PFESO) Executive Director, and many other distinguished guests. The cocktail will be followed by a screening of the Dutch film "Mees Kees Op Kamp" directed by Barbara Bredero.

Cine Europa 17 ran from September 30 till October 5, 2014 at the Cinematheque Iloilo, and it is free of charge. The FDCP Cinematheque is located at the B&C Square Bldg., Solis St., Iloilo City (near BPI Iznart, East West Bank Iznart, and Landbank Iznart). [hit the jump to continue]

Isdraken (The Ice Dragon)
The great adventure of 11-year-old Mik began when he had to leave his home in search of a new one. Along the way, he learns about whales, fishing, friends and love. Forced to flee from the authorities, his friends join on an Ice Dragon. This family adventure film from Sweden, directed by Martin Högdahl, won Best Visual Effects, Guldbagge Awards. (1:30 PM today at the FDCP Cinematheque)

Una Sconfinata Giovinezza (A Second Childhood)
Lino Settembre and his wife Chicca lead a tranquil married life without any serious problems. They are satisfied with their careers. He's the sports editor at the Messenger and she's a professor of medieval languages at the Universita' Gregoriana. The only true disappointment in their 25 years of marriage has been the lack of children. They used the situation to strengthen their marriage instead of letting it become real problem. But now, in a totally unexpected way, they're presented with a big worry. This Italian Drama, directed by Pupi Avati, won Best Production Design, BIFEST - Bari International Film Festival. (3:30 PM)

Mees Kees Op Kamp (Mister Twister Class of Fun)
This family comedy drama from the Netherlands was nominated Best Film, Nederlands Film Festival, and nominated Best Dutch Youth Film, Rembrandt Award. It is directed by Barbara Bredero. Class 6b is going camping, led by Mister Twister (Mees Kees) and Mrs. Dreus. But Dreus strains her back and suddenly all responsibility rests on the shoulders of Mees Kees. When things go wrong, Kees begins to doubt himself. But the problems are solved and he learns that it is not about the mistakes, but how to solve them. (5:30 PM)
