Max Landis pitches for a Wonder Woman movie

WONDER WOMAN is a DC superhero property that studios have been trying to successfully adapt into either a movie or a TV series, that could cash in on the popularity and success of superhero movies and TV series. Now, the writer of CHRONICLE, Max Landis has set his sights on it and will give it a shot. While the Landis' draft for Chronicle 2 was rejected by Fox (the studio is going a different way on the potential follow-up), he recently revealed that he plans on pitching his own take on Wonder Woman to Warner Bros.  The studio has yet to officially announce a Wonder Woman film as in development, but the standalone feature is clearly in their plans as they make their way towards Justice League following 2015’s Batman vs. Superman. [hit the jump to continue]

Screenwriter Max Landis was asked on Reddit (via THR) which superhero character he would like to tackle if he had his pick, and he revealed that he plans on pitching WB his own take on the character.
“[I’d like to do] either a version of Green Lantern that played like ET meets Stand By Me using the goth/punk scene and Kyle Raynor, or Wonder-Woman, using a pitch that I intend to make to WB.”

These things have not yet been sealed to be official, but it’s a good thing to know that a reliable and reputable screenwriter such as Landis has an idea for a Wonder Woman movie.  A Wonder Woman movie should be a refreshing, feminist alternative to the male-dominated superhero movies that have been coming out. It should make sense that a Wonder Woman should be more of a priority.  Let's just hope that Landis'pitch is indeed solid and great as we expected, and let's also hope the studio will be smart enough to hire him, as well.
