JURASSIC WORLD is set for June 2015 [UPDATED: See the Pitch Trailer!]

JURASSIC PARK 4 is now officially titled JURASSIC WORLD. And Universal Pictures has targetted June 12, 2015 as the official release for Jurassic World.  The film currently has that release date all to itself, though Assassin’s Creed and Pixar’s Inside Out are scheduled for release the following weekend.  Nevertheless, Jurassic World should make a very nice addition to the insane slate of films set to be released in 2015. JURASSIC WORLD, from the title alone, we can tell that this sequel is bound to be bigger in scope. But could this promise to deliver a good movie that could revive the phenomenon the first movie created? Director Colin Trevorrow is credited with penning the screenplay alongside Derek Connolly, which appears to suggest that his rewrites to Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver’s draft were significant.  With a release date now officially set, we should start to hear casting news over the next few months as production gets ready to begin early next year.  The film will be shot and released in 3D.

UPDATE: A “pitch trailer” that was apparently shown to Steven Spielberg andKathleen Kennedy has been released, and it might just give us the slightest idea of what Jurassic World entails.  Producer Frank Marshall has already confirmed that the trailer has nothing to do with the film, but it certainly hints towards a central premise or idea that would inform the Jurassic World title.  Check it out...
