ON THE JOB has a deal with France and the US

Erik Matti's movie ON THE JOB which was lauded with a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival in France has just been released this week here in Philippine theaters, but it is already being set up to be shown in other countries, and become a powerful Pinoy film in the international movie market.

After its fame at Cannes and at the Puchon Filmfest in South Korea, ON THE JOB has been having deals with France’s Wild Side (DVD/Blu-Ray Publishers) and Wellgo USA Entertainment, in a deal which covers theatrical release and DVD/Blu-Ray and VOD (video on demand) production.
The French and American distribution deals combined is estimated at  PHP 12 million (USD $280,572). In an interview with Inquirer, Matti said that this is the biggest distribution deal landed by a Filipino movie as of late. He adds that it is an exciting time for Philippine Cinema and that commercial flicks, given the right support, could make it internationally. ON THE JOB will be screened in “at least 12 theaters in the US in the fall" according to producer Dondon Monteverde.

Things got way more better when Matti and producer Dondon Monteverde have signed up with top Hollywood firm Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as a director-producer tandem. CAA is the same agency that represents Oscar winners Steven Spielberg and Ang Lee, box-office directors Jerry Bruckheimer and Christopher Nolan and A-list actors Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep. We can be sure that ON THE JOB's team will be eyeing bigger plans now.

Co-produced by Reality Entertainment and Star Cinema, ON THE JOB is written and directed by Erik Matti, co-written by Michiko Yamamoto, and stars Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, and Joel Torre.
