Prepare for THE WORLD'S END

The team of writer-director Edgar Wright, producer Nira Park, writer-actor Simon Pegg, and actor Nick Frost compose the team that has been responsible for the comedy cinema gems SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ, and the underrated TV series SPACED. Now, the team is back for a new movie entitled THE WORLD'S END. [full article after the jump]

In THE WORLD'S END, five childhood friends reunite after twenty years to repeat a legendary pub crawl from their youth (which they originally failed) returning to their hometown once again to attempt to reach the fabled pub "The World’s End". Over the course of the night, they realize that the town has been taken over by robots and they begin to realise that the real struggle is "not just theirs but humankind’s", and completing the crawl becomes the least of their worries.

THE WORLD'S END completes what is now dubbed as The Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (also known as the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy or the Cornetto trilogy). The series name originates from a "silly joke in an interview" during the promotion of Hot Fuzz, when somebody pointed the Cornetto connection out to Wright. Each film in the trilogy is connected to a Cornetto ice cream flavour – both of the films released to date feature scenes in which one of the main characters purchases a Cornetto of the appropriate flavour. Shaun of the Dead features a red strawberry flavoured Cornetto, which signifies the film's bloody and gory elements, Hot Fuzz includes the blue original Cornetto, to signify the police element to the film, and The World's End is expected to feature the green mint choc-chip flavour.

The team is pretty big, not only in england, but also having a huge fanbase in the US as well.

The film premiered last July 10 2013 at Leicester Square in London and is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on July 19, 2013 and in the United States on August 23, 2013. THE WORLD'S END arrives in the Philippines September 4, 2013.
