Published in 1995 under Image Comics, AVENGELYNE is about an angel (Avengelyne) who is the most feared warrior in Heaven's Army. But she was banished from Heaven by God after being tricked into questioning his love for humans. Avengelyne was stripped of all her angelic abilities, other than her great strength and her blood, which, once extracted from her body, could be used as a weapon or a miracle once empowered by quoting verses from the Bible. Ever since MMA fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano had appeared in the Steven Soderbergh movie Haywire and proved to the world that she can act, as well as carry a lead star charisma, her fans had eagerly anticipated to seeing more of her onscreen, and geeks had their own wishlist of what superhero character may be perfectly fit for her. (If you ask me, she'd make a good Wonder Woman)
