BOSES to Finally Open in Local Theaters

After a 5-year journey to local and international film festivals, BOSES comes to mainstream commercial local screenings, specifically SM Cinema (including Iloilo) on July 31, 2013. BOSES (Voices) is directed by Ellen Ongkeko Marfil (who also directed MGA PUSANG GALA, and ANGELS), and written by Froilan Medina and Rody Vera. BOSES is a poignant tale revolving around 7-year old Onyok who was made made mute by unbearable experiences with his own father. At a children’s shelter, he suffers another bullying until plucky girl Shirley becomes his protector. An encounter with the shelter's “mad man”, a reclusive violinist named Ariel, changes the course of Onyok's life. Guilt-ridden and traumatized over a girlfriend’s death, Ariel initially terrorizes Onyok until he discovers the boy’s gift.
