Rurouni Kenshin Sequel is Now in the Works

Mediatres Studio, the Spanish distributor for the Samurai X film, confirmed this and also explained that the sequel will be “true to the manga.” But the details for that has yet to be revealed.

In early reports for the first movie, it has already been revealed that the producers have been intending the Kenshin movies to at least be a trilogy. Speculations point to the possibility that the sequel might focus on the Shishio saga, which is the manga's most popular storyline.

Rurouni Kenshin Kenshin based on Nobuhiro Watsuki's popular manga of the same name, about a wandering swordsman during the early Meiji period in Japan, who offers protection and aid to those in need, as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin. It became a very popular anime series in the late 1990s, and spawned a large following in the Philippines during the time.
