Hulk TV series? Ant-Man movie coming?

AVENGERS and MARVEL fans, both old and NEW, would surely be excited to know that Marvel president Kevin Feige recently stated that Marvel plans to release two films a year from here on out.

The Avengers made an insane amount of money, so all eyes are on what Marvel Studios has coming up. Feige revealed that there are two unannounced Marvel projects currently in development, in addition to Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Captain America 2. Let's take a look what news has been coming in lately with regards to The Hulk and the Ant-Man... READ ON to find out what's been cooking with regards to The Hulk and Ant-Man.

THE HULK
Even before the Avengers movie was released, a Hulk television series has been in development at the ABC TV network for a while with Guillermo del Toro onboard as executive producer.  ABC president Paul Lee had this to say regarding Hulk:

“Hulk is in development.  It wasn’t going to be ready this season, but we hope it’s going to be ready for next season.”

If you weren’t aware, ABC and Marvel are both owned by Disney, so the Hulk TV show and a potential Hulk movie are both under the watchful eye of the same company. Although the previous movie points to the direction of his arch nemesis The Leader, I actually think this would be a journey that takes Bruce Banner away temporarily from his Avenger buddy Tony Stark.

ANT-MAN
Fans have been curious about Marvel’s Ant-Man for quite some time.  Edgar Wright (director of Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Hot Fuzz) is attached to direct, and he’s been working on the script for the past few years alongside Attack the Block’s Joe Cornish. With word that Ant-Man was coming along nicely, many were hoping that the superhero pic would be Wright’s next film.  However, the director recently set a September start-date for a third film with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost called The World’s End.

Confirmation that The World’s End is finally happening was fantastic news, but fans were left wondering what that meant for Ant-Man.  Wright recently appeared on Empire’s podcast and he talked a bit about fans being impatient regarding Ant-Man:

“I get quite superstitious because I don’t feel like anybody — websites and stuff — quite understands how hard long it takes and because the film websites update hourly, it’s like ‘What’s the fucking hold up? Just make it. Why isn’t it coming out tomorrow?’  But every film that I’ve made has taken like three years. Each one, it’s been three years between movies. I would love for that gap to be shorter, but the truth is there’s — it’s almost like a holding pattern. There are planes in the air and you have to figure out which one is going to land before they all crash. Yes, things are happening and other things are happening on other things as well. … There’s some interesting plates spinning and I ideally hope we’ll be shooting this year.”

When we learned about the start-date for The World’s End, the report stated that plan is to have the film ready for a possible spring 2013 release.  That would certainly free Wright up for the remainder of next year, and assuming no other project takes priority (he’s developing The Night Stalker with Johnny Depp), Ant-Man could very well be underway before the end of 2013.
