Mission: Impossible 5 is looking to be one of the most highly-anticipated movies of this year. This movie franchise which started mellow, and was negatively defined by the extremely awful yet highly-popular Mission: Impossible 2, mildly redeemed by its "a whole lot better" part 3, then completely redeemed when part 4 (Ghost Protocol) came around. Mission: Impossible 5 Moves 5 Months Earlier
Good news for Mission Impossible fans! "Mission: Impossible 5" which was originally set for a December 25, 2015 release date is set to be released five months earlier than expected. This is most excellent for us Filipino audiences because this spares us from having to wait until the first week of January 2016 to watch it. [hit the jump to continue]

Top Gun Sequel Being Developed
After several decades, it looks like the popular 80's iconic pop movie "Top Gun" will indeed be having a sequel after all. The project is still under a long overdue development phase, but sources say that "Top Gun 2" will have a a storyline that highlights the relevance of old fashioned pilots in a war environment loaded with high-tech drones. Tom Cruise will return as Maverick, perhaps we can expect the rest of the other cast to catch up to the project if it nears the greenlight. [hit the jump to continue]

"All You Need Is Kill" has been retitled to "Edge of Tomorrow"
The Japanese sci-fi novel titled ALL YOU NEED IS KILL by Hiroshi Sakurazaka is being adapted into a movie directed by Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Jumper) and stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Bill Paxton. This adaptation which had the same title as the novel, has recently been retitled as EDGE OF TOMORROW. The film is scheduled to be released on June 6, 2014. The poster for the film has also recently been released, ready for their panel in the upcoming comic-con in the US. Hit the jump to check out the synopsis of the movie.

MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. casting: Tom Cruise is out, Henry Cavill is in
Tom Cruise was in serious consideration for being cast as lead for the upcoming "Man from U.N.C.L.E." film adaptation of the popular 60's spy series of the same title, to be directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes). Now Cruise is off the project, and in his absence, Henry Cavill, who we will be seeing this June as the new Superman, will be replacing Cruise for the role. Also cast in this project are Armie Hammer who will co-star, and Alicia Vikander plays the film’s female lead. [read the rest of the article after the jump]

Release Dates Moved for 300: Rise of an Empire and All You Need Is Kill
300: Rise of an Empire doesnt look like its getting some excitement buzz, perhaps that is why Warner Bros. is moving its release schedule to March 7, 2014. Meanwhile, "All You Need Is Kill" will also be moved to June 6, 2014. [read full article after the jump]

A Fifth Mission Impossible movie has been Greenlit
Tom Cruise has recently signed a deal to star in and produce Mission: Impossible 5 for Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions. There’s no official word on who will be writing and/or directing the next installment of the franchise, but Cruise’s Jack Reacher writer/director Christopher McQuarrie is supposedly in line to take the gig. but with Mcquarrie attached to the remake of Ice station zebra, we may possibly see a different director for the sequel. Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer join The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Warner Bros. is planning an adaptation of the 1960s TV series; The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Guy Ritchie (director of Snatch, and the Robert Downey Jr.-starred Sherlock Holmes movies) will helm as director, with Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum) to write the screenplay. Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer are being eyed to star in the movie.
The original TV series was one of the many popular espionage TV series in the 1960s, which include Mission; Impossible, I-Spy, and Get Smart. The series follows the exploits of two secret agents, Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, who work for a secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law Enforcement). Like many spy series and movies of the 60's this show had a lot of intrigue, thrilling suspense, action, and amazing spy gadgets. Tom Cruise attached to upcoming adaptation of Japanese novel, anime Yukikaze
Fresh off the recent release of Oblivion and has also recently finished in the shooting of Doug Liman’s sci-fi thriller All You Need Is Kill, Tom Cruise has recently been attached to star in an adaptation of author ChÅhei Kambayashi’s sci-fi novel series "Yukikaze". Yukikaze was also adapted into a five-episode Japanese Original Video Animation (OVA) wch was release in 2002 till 2005.
The book series takes place on an Earth ravaged by war, where a hyper-dimensional passageway opened up over Antarctica thirty years previously, setting into motion events that would find the human race uniting to fight off the mysterious alien force known as JAM. Cruise would play a second lieutenant who is tasked with heading into enemy territory—the alien home planet Fairy—and gathering information that can bring an end to the war once and for all.
