The Greatest American Hero set for a Movie Remake; Lord and Miller set to helm project

Another 80's TV series will be adapted into film by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo who brought us the Channing Tatum-Johah Hill starrer 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, this time, it's; The Greatest American Hero. It's story centers on  schoolteacher named Isaac who discovers a suit that gives him superpowers. While this should be good news for him, the problem is that Isaac is usually stuck trying to figure out how to use the thing through trial and error because he can’t find the instructions. Drew Goddard exits Daredevil TV Series

More big bad news for Marvel fans this weekend. According to sources, award winning writer/director Drew Goddard has left the upcoming Marvel TV series DAREDEVIL. Goddard was supposed to write and direct the first episode of Daredevil, while also serving as series Showrunner and Executive Producer for the 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015. Drew Goddard will hand over showrunning duties to Steven S. DeKnight, who is finalizing a deal to board the series. Goddard will segue to writing and directing Sony's Spider-Man spinoff Sinister Six, which will focus on the villains from that universe. He'll remain with Daredevil and serve as a consultant on the drama.

Daredevil's new showrunner Steven S. DeKnight was the showrunner on three seasons of Starz's Spartacus which was wrapped in 2013. His credits include working with Goddard on Joss Whedon's Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer well as Whedon's Dollhouse and The CW's Smallville.

As for Sony's Sinister Six, it's actually a bit wierd that Goddard has prioritized working on this project instead, what with Amazing Spider-man 2 now being considered by many movie analysts as both a critical and commercial disappointment for the studio.

Marvel gearing up for four more TV series; Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist will come to life in TV

Now that DAREDEVIL and PUNISHER ('s legal rights) are back into Marvel Studios' hands, one might wonder if a Daredevil movie will be made. The answer is No... But there will be a Daredevil TV series. Not only that; there are three other Marvel projects that are set up to be launched as TV series as well; these will be series that will spotlight: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones. And these four hero TV series are also being planned to culminate into what will be a The Defenders mini-series. [hit the jump to continue]

Dwayne Johnson eyed to be THE FALL GUY, McG to direct

One of the popular TV series from the 1980s THE FALL GUY is one of those 80s series that has been in development hell to be made into a movie, but hasn't quite taken off yet. Not until now, Dwayne Johnson is being eyed to star in it. Starring Lee Majors, The Fall Guy centered on a stuntman who moonlighted as a bounty hunter when work was slow.  Just as Johnson is reported as being in negotiations to step into Majors’ shoes, McG (We Are Marshall) is also in talks to direct.  If deals were to close, casting would likely look to the roles of a sidekick cousin and a fetching female stunt actress, played by Douglas Barr and Heather Thomas in the original series, respectively.  That is, if the big-screen version were to follow in the footsteps of the ABC series; no plot details are available just yet. Both Johnson and McG are in talks to get The Fall Guy off the ground. Captain Planet and the Planeteers being developed as a live-action movie

Captain Planet and the Planeteers may have been one of the corniest cartoon shows that have come out in the early 1990s, but it certainly was one of the most successful and most popular cartoons ever. Knight Rider movie being developed

KNIGHT RIDER was one of the most popular TV series of the 80's, it was the show that made David Hasselhoff a household name. Now a movie adaptation of this show is being developed, and (Wild Hogs) screenwriter Brad Copeland has already been hired, indicating that this project is ineed moving along. The Weinstein Company, which owns the feature rights to the property, is aiming for a more high-octane, action-oriented adaptation, to catch up on the hype and the popularity of movies like the Fast & Furious movies. There are talks that David Hasselhoff, star of the original series, will be involved with the new version in one way or another, on the other hand, there is no word on whether Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) will return to voice the role of K.I.T.T., the extremely advanced and indestructible vehicle that was featured in the 80s original. Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer join The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Warner Bros. is planning an adaptation of the 1960s TV series; The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Guy Ritchie (director of Snatch, and the Robert Downey Jr.-starred Sherlock Holmes movies) will helm as director, with Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum) to write the screenplay. Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer are being eyed to star in the movie.

The original TV series was one of the many popular espionage TV series in the 1960s, which include Mission; Impossible, I-Spy, and Get Smart. The series follows the exploits of two secret agents, Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, who work for a secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law Enforcement). Like many spy series and movies of the 60's this show had a lot of intrigue, thrilling suspense, action, and amazing spy gadgets. Marvel & ABC developing S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series

No, it's Not "THE Shield"...

Earlier this month, it was reported that a TV series set in the Marvel Universe is being developed [CLICK HERE to read that report]. One that will be in the same continuity with the Avengers movie and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has recently been reported that this TV series is going to be one that will feature the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This series is currently being developed by the ABC Network will be co-written and will possibly be directed by Joss Whedon himself, the man who brought The Avengers to the silver screen.

Marvel has achieved ultra success with this year's AVENGERS. So where do they go from there? We have previously reported that all roads lead to an Avengers 2, and it has to go through a second phase of movies building up to that sequel. But the Marvel Universe is so vast and has an almost countless number of characters and stories to tell. It would most certainly be a pity if Marvel does not strike the iron while its hot; why not extend this vastness into television?

Unbeknownst to many, it is actually the longest running sci-fi TV series and the most successful science fiction series of all time, in terms of its overall broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales, iTunes traffic, and "illegal downloads". Many of you may probably think that Star Wars and Star Trek hold that title. Well, it's actually being held by a British TV series that many of you may not be too familiar with: DOCTOR WHO.

DOCTOR WHO is about to be made into a movie, and BBC is eyeing director David Yates to helm its adaptation. Yates has directed the last four Harry Potter movies which were well-made enough to make the entire Harry Potter film series arguably become the most successful film saga since Star Wars.
