Mack Bolan (The Executioner) up for a Film Adaptation; Bradley Cooper to Star

Warner Bros. has just acquired the rights to adapt the action novel series "Mack Bolan (aka The Executioner)" into a movie, and they have their sights on Hangover director Todd Phillips and actor Bradley Cooper to star as the title character. [hit the jump to continue]

"All You Need Is Kill" has been retitled to "Edge of Tomorrow"

The Japanese sci-fi novel titled ALL YOU NEED IS KILL by Hiroshi Sakurazaka is being adapted into a movie directed by Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Jumper) and stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Bill Paxton. This adaptation which had the same title as the novel, has recently been retitled as EDGE OF TOMORROW. The film is scheduled to be released on June 6, 2014. The poster for the film has also recently been released, ready for their panel in the upcoming comic-con in the US. Hit the jump to check out the synopsis of the movie.

Hanks and Howard brings Robert Langdon back in INFERNO Adaptation

Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are not yet done with the mysteries of Robert Langdon. After The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, Sony has set their sights on Dan Brown's INFERNO with Ron Howard as director, and Tom Hanks reprising his role as Harvard professor of symbology, Robert Langdon. Sony has set INFERNO's release date on December 18, 2015. [read the full article after the jump]

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie adaptation; Felicity Jones rumored to star as lead; Sam Taylor-Johnson is officially confirmed as director [UDPATED]

One of the most highly-anticipated movie adaptations yet to begin production and development is the adaptation of the popular novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

Now the project moves forward as a director has been named;  Sam Taylor-Johnson has been chosen to helm this movie. Felicity Jones has also been attached to star as the female lead character, but this has yet to be confirmed and finalized.

Shane Black to co-write and direct Doc Savage

Shane Black, who's currently basking in the success of Iron Man 3, has his sights set to direct a movie adaptation of the classic American pulp magazine action hero; DOC SAVAGE. In fact, the deal has been closed, and pre-production has commenced. Black has long been trying to develop this adaptation for quite some time now. 

Doc Savage became a popular american pulp hero in the 1930's and 1940's. He was created by publisher Henry W. Ralston and editor John L. Nanovic at Street and Smith Publications, with additional material contributed by the series' main writer, Lester Dent. [Read More After the Jump]

John Le Carré novels 'A Most Wanted Man' and 'A Delicate Truth' movie adaptations

John Le Carré is one of the most respected novelists who wrote many of the very popular espionage novels such as The Spy Who Came In from the Cold, The Tailor of Panama, The Constant Gardener, and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. His latest novel entitled A DELICATE TRUTH will come out this May, and has been immediately targeted for a film adaptation. The production company The Ink Factory has acquired the film rights to A Delicate Truth. Likewise, The Ink Factory has also recently finished work on shooting another Le Carré novel-turned-movie; A MOST WANTED MAN. [click the link below to read the full story]

Tom Cruise attached to upcoming adaptation of Japanese novel, anime Yukikaze

Fresh off the recent release of Oblivion and has also recently finished in the shooting of Doug Liman’s sci-fi thriller All You Need Is Kill, Tom Cruise has recently been attached to star in an adaptation of author Chōhei Kambayashi’s sci-fi novel series "Yukikaze". Yukikaze was also adapted into a five-episode Japanese Original Video Animation (OVA) wch was release in 2002 till 2005.

The book series takes place on an Earth ravaged by war, where a hyper-dimensional passageway opened up over Antarctica thirty years previously, setting into motion events that would find the human race uniting to fight off the mysterious alien force known as JAM. Cruise would play a second lieutenant who is tasked with heading into enemy territory—the alien home planet Fairy—and gathering information that can bring an end to the war once and for all.
