Our Trailer Tuesdays this week brings forth some trailers for the upcoming sequel to the movie adaptation of the popular graphic novel, KICK-ASS 2 brings back Kick-Ass and Hit Girl into the crime-fighting bloodbath along with some new costumed heroes, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson on THE INTERNSHIP, the anime movie DRAGONBALL Z: BATTLE OF GODS, and the award-winning movie that stars Vilma Santos as an EKSTRA.We also have trailers for the Paul Greengrass movie starring Tom Hanks, entitled CAPTAIN PHILLIPS, and a Spike Jonze film entitled HER which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier First Teaser Poster Revealed

Disney has released the first teaser poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The film stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Georges St-Pierre, Frank Grillo, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Before Midnight moved a week later

The Philippine release date for BEFORE MIDNIGHT has been moved to July 10, 2013. The film was originally set for a July 3 release date [check out this prominent press release which announces that]. But it looks like the slot for the date has been filling up with too many big name movies simultaneously piling up. If there is one lesson we should learn from the Kick-Ass 2 re-sked [check that news HERE], it's that local release dates are indeed subject to change as late as days before the scheduled date. Farewell, Lau Kar-leung

Legendary Hong Kong Actor and Director Lau Kar-leung (the director of landmark Kung Fu films "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin," starring "Kill Bill"’s Gordon Liu, and "Drunken Master II" with Jackie Chan) passed away after a two-decade battle with cancer.

Martial artist, action choreographer and film director Lau Kar-leung died on Tuesday morning following a two-decade battle with cancer. He was 76. [article continued after the jump]

KICK-ASS 2 moved to August

Bad news to the fans of, and those who are looking forward to the Philippine release of KICK-ASS 2. It looks like the Philippine release date which was officially set on June 26, 2013 will not be happening, and the release date has now been pushed to August 14, 2013 according to IMDB's release date for the film. Trailer Tuesdays: Monsters University, The Place Beyond the Pines, 4 Sisters & A Wedding, The Heat, The Wolverine

Our Trailer Tuesdays this week brings forth some trailers for the upcoming Monsters University, The Place Beyond the Pines, and 4 Sisters & A Wedding. All of them set to open tomorrow June 26, and The Heat which will open on Friday June 28. We also get a glimpse of The Wolverine which is (arguably) a reboot that is clearly meant to overwrite the previous awful Wolverine movie. The Wolverine is set to arrive in Philippine shores July 25.

Sarah Gadon is Not Mary Jane Watson

A few days ago, we reported that Shailene Woodley who was originally set to play Mary Jane Watson in the next Spider-man movie will be replaced. Soon thereafter news came up that Sarah Gadon was set to join the cast for Amazing Spider-man 2, in a role not revealed, but it made sense to most that she was cast to fill in the void left by Woodley. Now, Gadon has come out in her twitter account that she will Not be playing Mary Jane, stating:

" I will not be playing MJ in Spider-Man. I have a role in the film, but it is not that one :) "

Mary Jane Watson may be removed from Amazing Spider-man 2; Updated: Has a New Mary Jane Watson been Found?

The Spider-man character Mary Jane Watson (previously played by Kirsten Dunst in the Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire Spider-man movies) was supposed to make her appearance in the upcoming Amazing Spider-man 2. But now, it looks like she will be a character that will be shelved until we get to part 3. The role is played by Shailene Woodley, a role that is very important to the Spider-man mythos, because she ends up as Spidey's leading lady, she is Spidey's Lois Lane.

Her fate in the cutting room floor may be caused by the fact that her appearance in this movie will actually be a mere set-up for her to become the lead lady in the next movie (part 3). That is the initial idea behind it. But it may not be the character, but the actress. Now the director Marc Webb himself has come out revealing that the role of Mary Jane might be recast. Amazing Spider-man 3 and 4 set for 2016 and 2018 target dates

Sony's reboot of the Spider-man franchise may not be a very good movie, but it did manage to rake in the box office numbers, enough to fuel the urge for a sequel, and continue with their rebooted direction. And while it makes that much money, you can be sure that there will be more Spider-man sequels off this rebooted continuity.

Amazing Spider-man 2 is currently in production, and is slated to be released May 2014. The producers (and Sony) are expressing optimism on their superhero franchise, that they have locked on to set two (2) more films; Amazing Spider-man 3 and Spider-man 4; and have set their target release dates on June 10, 2016, and on May 4, 2018, respectively. The Expendables 2 opens this week

The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2010 action ensemble; THE EXPENDABLES 2 opens this THURSDAY -August 16, 2012 - in Philippine cinemas (that includes Iloilo, of course). The film will open in US theaters 2 days later (if you count the time zone difference), August 17, 2012. This time, the movie is directed by Simon West (Con Air, The Mechanic) and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth; Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger in supposed larger, more action-packed roles; and will be joined by Jean Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. EXPENDABLES 2 will also be released in Europe this Thursday. Don't forget to visit the site first thing in the morning of Thursday to check out the screening skeds of EXPENDABLES 2 in Iloilo theaters.

At the recent Cannes Film Festival, Jackie Chan announced his retirement, saying he felt “really, really tired” after those decades of doing the unthinkable in his stunt works.

The 58-year-old actor said that his latest Hollywood movie "CHINESE ZODIAC" would be the last time audiences see him in a leading action role.
