Just like the first movie, it is not easy to classify KICK-ASS 2; it could perhaps be best described as a comedy with some really dark action elements, and cold-blooded violence. A more simple way to describe it is that it's a violent superhero comedy that will most probably find its market among teens and lovers of the superhero genre. The comedy elements and the colorful costumes may be bothersome for audiences who are not open-minded towards this genre. But it really is a well-made story about characters who are trying to find their true identity and the consequences of whatever reckless lives they live.
KICK-ASS 2 is a strong superhero movie. Much of the movie's strength lies on how good the source material is. Mark Millar (the writer of the comicbook/graphic novel) has a material that creates twists, turns, and action suspense that can keep your balls sweating. [read the FULL REVIEW, CLICK HERE]

KICK-ASS 2 moved to August
Bad news to the fans of, and those who are looking forward to the Philippine release of KICK-ASS 2. It looks like the Philippine release date which was officially set on June 26, 2013 will not be happening, and the release date has now been pushed to August 14, 2013 according to IMDB's release date for the film. Trailer Tuesdays: Monsters University, The Place Beyond the Pines, 4 Sisters & A Wedding, The Heat, The Wolverine
Our Trailer Tuesdays this week brings forth some trailers for the upcoming Monsters University, The Place Beyond the Pines, and 4 Sisters & A Wedding. All of them set to open tomorrow June 26, and The Heat which will open on Friday June 28. We also get a glimpse of The Wolverine which is (arguably) a reboot that is clearly meant to overwrite the previous awful Wolverine movie. The Wolverine is set to arrive in Philippine shores July 25.
UPDATE: Kick-Ass 2 moved to August 14, 2013

Kick-Ass 2 to start shooting this year
Kick-Ass Isn't Done Kicking Ass Yet
by Reymundo Salao
The sequel to the 2010 black comedy superhero movie Kick-Ass is now well into production and will start shooting September this year. Aaron Johnson confirmed that he would reprise his titular role in the sequel. Chloƫ Grace Moretz who plays Hit-Girl and Christopher Charles Mintz-Plasse who plays the Red Mist are expected to reprise their roles as well. On the other hand, director Matthew Vaughn (who still acts as producer for the sequel) will be having his hands full on the sequel to the successful X-Men: First Class but he has chosen Jeff Wadlow, who also co-wrote the script along with Vaughn, to direct Kick-Ass 2. The sequel will maintain that Hard R rating.

Universal now plans a KICK-ASS sequel
While comic creator Mark Millar has been touting the “greenlight” for Kick-Ass 2 for years now, it turns out that production may finally get started this year. Deadline reports that Universal is in talks to make a sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s excellent 2010 pic Kick-Ass. Vaughn is currently busy developing a sequel to X-Men: First Class, so Jeff Wadlow will be taking over directing duties this time around. Wadlow, who wrote and directed 2005’s Cry_Wolf and directed the 2008 fighting-centered Never Back Down, wrote the script for Vaughn who I’m assuming will be producing.
