Ben Kingsley will be making an appearance around the Marvel Cinematic Universe once more

During press rounds for the upcoming Ender's Game, Ben Kingsley revealed that he recently shot “a secret Marvel project. I’m not allowed to say any more, you’re going to have to wait and see,” adding that many members of the Iron Man 3 crew were involved. This means that we will be seeing more of him in upcoming Marvel projects. The question is: What will he be appearing in? Avengers 2? The Agents of SHIELD TV series? Or will he be having a role in some of the post-credits stingers or (one-shot) short films connected with Marvel's cinematic universe? [hit the jump to continue]

Bettlejuice 2 Now Seems Like a Big Possibility

After two decades, Beetlejuice might finally get resurrected this time. The sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 film Beetlejuice has been in development for years, and according to sources, it has never been off Burton's concern (although you wonder why it has taken this long). it.  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter writer Seth Grahame-Smith was tasked with penning a new screenplay, but Burton said his involvement was based on the quality of the script.  Now it appears that script is good enough as The Wrap reports that Burton is in talks to direct the further adventures of the mischievous ghoul. Universal Acquired Rights to Historical Spy Thriller Script entitled "Section 6"

SECTION 6 is the title of a historical spy thriller script that is the subject of a bidding war between Universal and Sony. In its end, Aaron Berg sold his spec script Section 6 to Universal for $1.2 million.  SECTION 6 is a historical spy thriller that follows the World War I-era formation of British intelligence agency MI6 and its first director, Sir George Mansfield Cummings, who served as the inspiration for M in the James Bond series. If Sony won, a straight-up James Bond spinoff could have been a possibility.

No director or cast is attached at this time, but the project has drawn interest from the likes of Hugh Jackman and directors Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6) and Brett Ratner (Tower Heist). Section 6 could be something worth following on.

Elizabeth Olsen is Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron -according to Samuel Jackson

With the Marvel Phase 2 ball already rolling with Iron Man 3 last summer and Thor: The Dark World early next month, Marvels' The Avengers: Age of Ultron is fast approaching. Writer-director Joss Whedon and his cast and crew are prepping up this grand sequel. Among the new characters that will be improved in the Age of Ultron is the mutant Scarlet Witch and her brother Quicksilver. While it was reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson had entered talks to play Quicksilver and by now Marvel has not yet made an official announcement, it can be safely assumed that he will indeed end up playing the part. As for Scarlet Witch, Saoirse Ronan had initially been strongly considered for the part, but denies any involvement with the project (some sources say she declined the part, which led us to our own speculations). Not much later, Elizabeth Olsen has been in the rumor mill to be taking on the role of the Scarlet Witch instead. Again, no confirmations have been released by the studio as of yet. But this week, Samuel Jackson has spilled the beans on her involvement, and confirms, yes, Elizabeth Olsen will indeed be Scarlet Witch. [hit the jump to continue]

Farewell, Tom Clancy

Author Tom Clancy Passes Away at Age 66
Author Tom Clancy has passed away at the age of 66, after a brief illness. The popular writer wrote such bestselling espionage books as The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and The Sum of All Fears, all of which were adapted into highly-successful movies which feature these series' main protagonist Jack Ryan (which were previously portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, and Harrison Ford). This January 2014 we'll be expecting the release of the relaunch/reboot of the film series with a brand new Jack Ryan series with "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit", directed by Kenneth Branagh, and with Chris Pine portraying the title character (the film is released in the US December 25, 2013, but since it will conflict with the MMFF, the release of this movie is automatically moved to January 2014). Simon Kinberg hired for rewrites on FANTASTIC FOUR; Script Overhaul? or Adjustment for an X-Men Cross-over?

Aside from the X-Men franchise, Fox is also in the process of developing a Fantastic Four reboot. Josh Trank (who directed the awesome movie CHRONICLE) will be directing this new F4 movie with Jeremy Slater to pen the script and Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) doing a polish on the screenplay. It seems like the screenplay history of this movie just keeps getting more complicated, as various reports note that Michael Green and T.S. Nowlin have also worked on versions of the script at one time or another. And now, Fox has tapped X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg to do a “significant” rewrite on the project, in what might appear as an overhaul of the screenplay.
