"Metallica: Through The Never"is partially a narrative thriller, and partially a concert movie. The narrative feature follows young Trip's (Dane DeHaan) surreal adventure. As Metallica performs a roaring live set for fans in a sold-out arena, Trip, who is a young roadie is sent on a mission to meet a disabled truck and retrieve a particular item. However, the routine task turns into a surreal odyssey when Trip's van is hit by another vehicle and he subsequently finds himself up against a death-dealing horseman. As Trip flees through desolate streets, he has only his wits to help him avoid the deadly horseman and deliver Metallica's cargo. The narrative is sewn together with concert footage from a set of concerts Metallica held in August 2012.
The film's narrative protagonist is Dane DeHaan who is well-known for his performance as a disturbed kid with super powers in "Chronicle"and he will be next seen in "Amazing Spider-man 2". "Through The Never" is directed by Nomrod Antal, who may have started out with the explosive and awesome movies like "Kontroll", "Vacancy", and "Armored" and successfully reinvigorated the Predator franchise with his 2010 movie simply titled "Predators"
Metallica is one of the longest-running metal icons that has continued to live on and rock on for more than 3 decades, with a fandom spread out worldwide and among different ages. With high praises and flattering reviews from various film critics, and scoring high on the critics'reviews aggregator rottentomatoes.com, "Through The Never" promises to be THE concert movie to watch this year.
