2016 Razzies Wins a Tie for Fantastic Four and Fifty Shades of Grey as Worst Pictures of the Year

Just as the Academy Awards is an event that celebrates the Best in Cinema for the year, many of you may already know that there's also an annual event that celebrates the worst in cinema, and that is the annual Golden Raspberry Awards (or simply called "The Razzies"). This year, the event was held February 27, 2016 which is a day before the Oscar night. The Worst Picture Award gets a tie, with "Fifty Shades of Grey" and "Fantastic Four" getting the title. "Fifty Shades of Grey" has the most nominations and the most won, winning the Worst Picture, Worst Actor (for Jamie Dornan) and Worst Actress (for Dakota Johnson). Eddie Redmayne won the Worst Supporting Award for "Jupiter Ascending" and Kaley Cuoco as Worst Supporting Actress for "Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Road Chip". [hit the jump to continue]

Fifty Shades of Grey Sequels Production Delayed

Despite the financial success and critical failure of "Fifty Shades of Grey" Universal Pictures has yet to officially announce production on adaptations of James’ other novels, "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed". Will "Fifty Shades of Grey" Get Cuts on Philippine Release?

For "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans in the Philippines, we have Good News and Bad News. Good News; the movie is now showing in Philippine theaters. All the rumors that the film was going to be banned for Philippine screening has now been shot down. Another good news is that there will be No Cuts. The Bad News: there will be blurs and blackened "screen block" portions that will censor some parts of the movie. In addition, SM Cinemas will also not be screening the movie. Now that Charlie Hunnam is out of the Fifty Shades of Grey project, the search for the actor to portray Christian Grey has landed on Jamie Dornan who is best known for his roles on the TV series "The Fall" and  "Once Upon a Time" and the Sofia Coppola film "Marie Antoinette"

Dakota Johnson (21 Jump Street) is still on board as Anastasia Steele, and Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy) will be directing. The adaptation of E.L. James’ bestselling novel is now set to kick off production and is scheduled for release August 1, 2014.

Charlie Hunnam drops out of Fifty Shades of Grey

Dakota Johnson has been chosen to star as Anastasia Steele, the lead female character, and Charlie Hunnam has been chosen to star as Christian Grey, the lead male character in Universal Pictures and Focus Features’ highly anticipated film adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” The film, which will be released by Focus Features on August 1, 2014 in the US, is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti alongside E L James, the author of the bestselling book on which the film is based.  The screenplay is by Kelly Marcel. "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie adaptation; Felicity Jones rumored to star as lead; Sam Taylor-Johnson is officially confirmed as director [UDPATED]

One of the most highly-anticipated movie adaptations yet to begin production and development is the adaptation of the popular novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

Now the project moves forward as a director has been named;  Sam Taylor-Johnson has been chosen to helm this movie. Felicity Jones has also been attached to star as the female lead character, but this has yet to be confirmed and finalized.

20th Century Fox has released the poster for the upcoming film adaptation of the popular and controversial novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREY.
