LARONG BATA gets Iloilo Screening this September

An indie film, “LARONG BATA” will be shown on September 14, 2013 (Saturday), 5 pm, at SM Iloilo Cinema 6, in the hopes of raising additional funds for the chemotherapy of the children that KKK takes care of. The film will be a very good form of educating students on the very touchy issue of “bullying”. The movie features Melai Cantiveros, Jason Francisco and Makisig Morales and is directed by Niel Tan. The whole story is presented comically, highly amusing and entertaining for minor audiences but the message of bullying is emphasized and addressed. [hit the jump to continue]

BOSES to Finally Open in Local Theaters

After a 5-year journey to local and international film festivals, BOSES comes to mainstream commercial local screenings, specifically SM Cinema (including Iloilo) on July 31, 2013. BOSES (Voices) is directed by Ellen Ongkeko Marfil (who also directed MGA PUSANG GALA, and ANGELS), and written by Froilan Medina and Rody Vera. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, set for Exclusive Release at SM Cinemas

Following the success of SM Cinema's release of the One Piece and Hunter X Hunter anime movies exclusively, SM Cinema is once again set to show another anime movie. This time it's DRAGON BALL Z: BATTLE OF GODS and it is set for release on AUGUST 14, 2013 Wednesday at all SM City Cinemas.

DRAGON BALL Z: BATTLE OF GODS was released in Japan on March 30, 2013. It is the first Dragon Ball movie in 17 years to have a theatrical release. It is the first film in the series to be considered an official part of the Dragon Ball storyline, being set between chapters 517 and 518 of the original manga during the ten year time skip, with original creator Akira Toriyama deeply involved.

Vin Diesel and other Fast 6 cast to visit the Philippines for Premiere

Fast & Furious 6 is up for Philippine release on May 24, 2013. But on May 15, 2013 there will be a Premiere at the SM Mall of Asia, and it will be graced with the presence of the film's star Vin Diesel, along with fellow stars Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carrano and Luke Evans, with producer Neal H. Updated: Evil Dead will Not be Shown in Iloilo at all

I just received TERRIBLE news about this movie. EVIL DEAD will not be shown in Robinson's Movieworld. The previous news for this says that it will not be shown in SM Cinema as well because of their R-18 policy. Columbia Pictures Philippines has stated that the screening of this movie will only be for Ayala Cinemas, and so because there's no Ayala Cinema in Iloilo.... Basically, EVIL DEAD will not be shown in Iloilo at all. Wow. This does really encourage us all to resort to torrents, doesn't it? [READ THE FULL ARTICLE]
