ILO ILO Premieres in Iloilo, Opens in Philippine Cinemas this Week

The Singaporean movie "Ilo ilo" may have its official home in Singapore, because this is a Singaporean movie directed by Singaporean director Anthony Chen. But at its emotional core, we Ilonggos can acknowledge a certain connection, a certain emotional link with the movie, and we consider this film's premiere here in Iloilo as a "Coming Home"event.

The highly acclaimed and multi-awarded Singaporean drama film entitled "Ilo ilo" had its Philippine premiere in SM City Iloilo Cinema last Sunday December 1, 2013. The premiere was also a fundraising event for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in Northern Iloilo. And the event was really successful and jampacked. "Ilo ilo" officially opens its regular run in Philippine cinemas December 4, 2013.

SALVI: ANG PAGPADAYON Starts Its Screening Week with a Warm Reception

The Ilonggo Movie SALVI: ANG PAGPADAYON had its premiere night last September 10, 2013 at the SM City Cinema, and was attended by fully-packed house. It was attended by various distinguished personalities such as City Councilors, which does tell us that the City Government does support the local arts scene. And it was obvious that the audience that evening loved the movie.

SALVI: ANG PAGPADAYON is showing this week [from September 11, 2013 to September 17, 2013] at the SM City Cinema, and is part of the Film Development Council of the Philippines' 2013 Sineng Pambansa National Film Festival All-Masters Edition which will exclusively be screened in 45 branches of SM Cinema across the country. SALVI was chosen to be the film under the festival's New Breed cinema. Watch out for my review of SALVI tomorrow.

Vin Diesel and other Fast 6 cast to visit the Philippines for Premiere

Fast & Furious 6 is up for Philippine release on May 24, 2013. But on May 15, 2013 there will be a Premiere at the SM Mall of Asia, and it will be graced with the presence of the film's star Vin Diesel, along with fellow stars Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carrano and Luke Evans, with producer Neal H. Bourne Legacy to have Asian Premiere in the Philippines

The upcoming BOURNE LEGACY which has had many of its scenes shot in the Philippines, specifically Metro Manila and Palawan, will be having its Asian Premiere here in the Philippines, at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, Philippines on August 5, 2012.

BOURNE LEGACY is the fourth film in the Bourne series. This sequel, however, will not be having the Jason Bourne character on it (neither Matt Damon, of course), but it is set in the same universe and continuity as the Bourne series. It will have the same characters; Pamela Landy (played by Joan Allen), Noah Vosen (played by David Strathairn), and Exra Kramer Scott Glenn), and Dr. Albert Hirsch (Albert Finney). To be specific, this movie revolves around the same shadow group and assassin program that has created Jason Bourne, and a new assassin character named Kenneth Gibson who is heavily compared to Jason Bourne.
