Lara Croft Returns!
After the recent critical and financial success of the new Tomb Raider video game, a reboot of the film franchise is now looking promising. Game developer Crystal Dynamics was previously reported as working with GK Films on a new feature after the production company acquired the film rights from Square Enix, Ltd. back in 2011. Now, it looks like MGM has signed on to partner with GK Films in getting the reboot off the ground. [CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO READ THE REST OF THE ARTICLE]

Change-Picture Day on March 30
It is indeed Wednesday, which film junkies usually expect to be 'change-picture day' for moviehouses. But just in case you don't know it, or you're of a different religion, this week is Holy Week holiday for Christians. Generally, moviehouses are closed for the next two days; Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. There will be no 'change-picture' of new movies until Saturday.
Come Saturday, March 30, 2013, the new movies opening will include the following:
G.I. JOE: RETALIATION
Directed by Jon M. Chu, and stars Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, and Lee Byung-hun, and is written by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
This positively much-anticipated sequel to the gad-awful first movie (GI Joe: Rise of Cobra) looks like it is indeed adapting the popular GI Joe cartoon series (based on a Hasbro toyline) of the 80's, and promises to be an ultra-power-packed action fiesta. I am definitely looking forward to this! Its US opening date is March 28, it arrives in Philippine theaters March 30.
IT TAKES A MAN AND A WOMAN
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, this movie brings back the John Lloyd Cruz and sarah Geronimo tandem. In fact, this is the third installment to what is now a romance trilogy which started in "A Very Special Love" on 2008 and followed by "You Changed My Life" on 2009.
I was only able to watch part 1 of this trilogy, and I enjoyed it. I have said it time and again that Cathy Garcia Molina is one of the very very few directors working in mainstream Pinoy cinema, which can certainly deliver projects that range from outstandingly decent to highly impressive. I can say the same for John Lloyd and Sarah, who are both great in these types of roles. If you love romantic movies, this movie is a great bet to put your money on.

Captain America sequel casting Robert Redford, UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre, and more!
CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER cast looks completely impressive!
by Reymundo Salao
The casting of the Marvel movie sequel CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER has been going along well with an interesting line-up. Recent reports indicate UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre is cast as the villain known as Batroc the Leaper. Frank Grillo (who is best known for his role in Prison Break) is set to play the villainous assassin Crossbones, Anthony Mackie will play Cap's ally Falcon. And more intruigingly, it has lately been reported that Robert Redford is set to playe a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. officer known only as Pierce. This is geektastically good news because Redford, (who has lately been thought to be retired from making films) is known for a lot of 'cold-war era' espionage movies back in the 70's and 80's and this makes him a perfect addition to the "Winter Soldier" storyline.

New Ilonggo Film entitled "Iskerda" being developed
TM Malones and Independent Film Production Group Dark Media Creations, the group responsible for the indie short film SALVI and the music video for the Diet of Wormz song 'Apocalypse' has recently announced that their next project will be an Ilonggo feature film entitled "ISKERDA"
Not much has been revealed about the details of what the storyline is all about, but the group has recently been holding auditions for the upcoming project. This is certainly something for the Iloilo film scene to look forward to. Syowing will be watching over the progress of this project.

Dwayne Johnson's Agent Hobbs character from the Fast & Furious series may get his own movie
Agent Hobbs Spin-off Movie
Dwayne Johnson was an excellent addition to the Fast & Furious series when Fast Five came out, so much so that there’s been talk of his Luke Hobbs character getting his own spinoff film. Way back in January 2011, producer Neal Moritz said that they were “about to” get a script together for the Hobbs movie, and Johnson himself has been keen on the idea. Johnson has a key role in this year’s Fast & Furious 6, as his DSS agent enlists Vin Diesel’s car-thieving crew to help him combat a rival team of thieves in Europe in return for Diesel and Co.’s full pardons. Now Johnson has provided an update on the standalone Hobbs movie, suggesting it might come in between Fast 6 and the inevitable Fast & Furious 7.
