Over 80,000 human rights violations committed during the Marcos Dictatorship have been documented. For those who lost a family member through these enforced disappearances, that meant suddenly losing dear loved ones with no explanation, no resolution. They're just left with their unanswered questions for years, decades, not knowing whatever happened to their husband, wife, son, daughter, brother or sister.
In the film, TIGBAO, we enter the world of Mang Celio, father to a desaparecido ("the disappeared"). As we ask the same questions he asks, would we discover truth? Would we open ourselves to the harrowing tales of our past?
The screening will be from February 23 to 28, 2016 screenings at 3:30 PM & 5:30 PM (Tuesday to Thursday), and 1:30 PM & 3:30 PM (Friday to Saturday). Admission is at P100 only. The FDCP Cinematheque is located at the B&C Square Building, Solis Street, Iloilo City (near BPI and East West Bank). The Cinematheque is Iloilo's home of quality indie films and art films from the local and international cinema. Check out the trailer...
