Clive Barker plans to resurrect Hellraiser

Whatever happened to Pinhead and the Hellraiser franchise? Went crumbling down due to poorly made sequels, right? Well, Hellraiser is about to make itself ready for a big comeback, as Horror writer/director Clive Barker is gearing up for Pinhead's big return with a new Hellraiser movie! Barker took to his Facebook to tell everyone that – yes, we were aware that a Hellraiser remake had been contemplated, but it’s out of the realm of simple thought and we should be excited because he’s writing it.

Dimension Films, the old Weinstein-spinoff company that Bob (Weinstein) took and developed into that studio that brought teen slasher flicks back in the 90's and post-2000. Upcoming Movies: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

One of the biggest anticipated movies of the year is the second movie in The Hunger Games movie franchise; THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE. Based on Suzanne Collins' novel, Catching Fire, the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy, this is the sequel to the 2012 adaptation of the same title THE HUNGER GAMES which was successful, so much so that its studio Color Force and distributers Lionsgate and Entertainment One are set to adapt the entire series as a movie franchise, hopefully, as successful as the Harry Potter movies.  Francis Lawrence, director of Constantine, I Am Legend, is directing this movie and will also direct the next two movies THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PARTS 1 and 2 as well. Catching Fire's screenplay is written by Simon Beaufoy and Michael Arndt. THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is set for release in the US November 22, the film lands in Philippine theaters November 21, 2013.[hit the jump to continue]

National Trasure 3, Bad Boys 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, are on Bruckheimer's checklist

Jerry Bruckheimer has recently announced that sequels for three of his movie franchises are definitely on his list of upcoming movies to be produced. National Treasure 3 and Bad Boys 3 are being planned and developed as of the moment, but Bad Boys 3 needs more nudge from fans. Here’s Bruckheimer’s advice to fans who want to make that film happen: “You got to talk to Sony Pictures. We’d love to have you talk to them and tell them it’s a good thing to do. Please write them letters.”

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 on the other hand, is well on its way. It's top priority of the three, and it even has a scheduled release, which is July 10, 2015. For now, Bruckheimer is recently promoting the upcoming LONE RANGER which stars Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp, and directed by Gore Verbinski (director of the first three Pirates movies)

G.I. Joe 3 is a Go!

Personally, I was glad that the second G.I. Joe movie - G.I. Joe: Retaliation - was successful at the box office and at the critical receptions. Most of all, because of the new direction and the new treatment of the G.I. Joe franchise which is a tremendously huge improvement over the disgustingly awful first movie. And with the success of this movie, of course, we can expect the studios to milk the cow and strike the iron while its hot; a third movie will surely be made. And indeed the wheels have begun rolling at Paramount studios as it has recently been announced that a Third G.I. Chuckie is back with Child's Play 6; which is direct-to-DVD

Chucky is back! The talking, living, killing doll is once again full of life to spread death around with a new Child's Play movie to add to this almost-20-year old series. Child's Play 6 entitled Curse of Chucky is a direct-to-DVD sequel though. Meaning, it will not have a cinematic release. But then again, in the past, there are several direct-to-DVD movies that have had cinematic release in other countries like here in the Philippines.
