Doug Liman to helm Splinter Cell

Fans are surely rejoicing as the "Splinter Cell" movie which has long been in development, moves along as a director has already been chosen for this film adaptation. Doug Liman, best known for directing the 2002 Bourne Identity movie, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Swingers, has been chosen to helm the film adaptation of the popular video game "Splinter Cell". Splinter Cell movie being developed

Tom Clancy's SPLINTER CELL is a series of award-winning action-adventure stealth video games that follows the military-spy-action-adventures of a covert operative named Sam Fisher. It is set to be adapted into a movie, and that is definitely something to look forward to. Warner Bros. and Paramount have been competing for the rights to produce the adaptation. Ubisoft was pleased to announce that they now have a writer for the project. Screenwriter Eric Singer, who wrote the screenplay for the 2009 espionage thriller The International (starring Clive Owen) has been tapped by Ubisoft to work on the script for a film adaptation of Splinter Cell.
