Two-time Oscar nominee David Magee to Pen Screenplay for the Fourth Narnia film

Life of Pi writer David Magee has been tapped to adapt The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair, which is being produced by The C.S. Lewis Co. and The Mark Gordon Co.

"I have always loved The Chronicles of Narnia, and I endlessly imagined myself finding my own passage into Narnia someday," Magee said. "All these years later, I'm getting to fulfill that wish just a little bit by writing the film adaptation of The Silver Chair and could not be more excited about it." [hit the jump to continue]

Sharon Cuneta is looking for a Screenplay

Inquirer reports that Megastar Sharon Cuneta is inviting independent filmmakers to submit screenplays for an indie movie. She was not looking for a vanity project, she clarified, but merely asking filmmakers, “What type of movie do you see me in?” From the tone of the report, it seems that Sharon is trying to tap the indie population, or at least those probably not connected with the mainstream film companies. It should be remembered that Sharon has indeed supported the indie scene in many instances, and I wouldn't be surprised if she cracked at pushing the indie scene again into the limelight.

Co-Writer of Iron Man 3 Drew Pearce hired for a Mission: Impossible

Drew Pearce co-wrote, with writer-director Shane Black, Iron Man 3. It's probably the success of this Marvel movie which made Paramount hire Pearce as writer for the new Mission: Impossible movie.

It was recently reported that franchise star Tom Cruise is officially attached to produce and star in Mission: Impossible 5 [read story here].  Production on the film is is expected to start in the fall after Cruise wraps filming on Warner Bros.’ The Man From U.N.C.L.E.  Plot details are being kept quiet, and the search for a director is currently underway.  Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) is reportedly in talks, but recently signed on to write and direct a remake of Ice Station Zebra.
